• Fury boils and nearly spills over within me when I lock eyes with Alpha Markus and his Beta. I grit my teeth together when the bastard says, “I wonder what Evelyn would say about this.” His comment makes it clear that he thinks he owns me just because I’ve agreed to be mated to his daughter. Titus cringes inside at the thought that the snobby, entitled Alpha’s daughter is set to lead our pack as our Luna. “Nothing,” I answer causally, “Kelsey and I were catching up as friends do, Alpha Markus. However, I don’t believe how I choose to spend my spare time is any of Evelyn’s business. I mean, not yet at least.”
• Alpha Markus growls loudly at my response and I feel Kelsey’s petite body jump back slightly into mine. “We’ll see about that,” he responds through clenched teeth. “I assume you’ve told the school teacher that she’s not leaving.
