Chapter 45 Undercutting Face to Face

• Adrian instinctively glanced back and found Yvette quirking a brow at her phone screen, then quickly tapping a few times with her slender fingers. It seemed like she was texting, so Adrian didn't think much of it. However, just as he diverted his gaze, his phone buzzed. Adrian unlocked the screen and saw that M had replied to him with an emoji. He halted his steps and looked back over his shoulder to see Yvette still focused on her screen. At that, he withdrew his gaze and shook his head, thinking it was just a coincidence.
• While waiting for the fourth show to begin, Yvette took a trip to the restroom at the end of the corridor around the corner, and just as she approached the corner, she heard a crisp slap. She paused, then heard Sandra screeching, "You ungrateful wench! Don't think I don't know you're trying to get close to Lady M, thinking she'll appreciate your garbage designs and then get rid of me!"
• "I-I didn't…" a timid female voice replied, who Yvette quickly recognized as Ruby, the young girl she had just met.
