Chapter 2 Golden Body Technique

  • However, Benjamin knew that Serena was straightforward with men. She wouldn't do such a thing.
  • “Ms. Yates, I hope you won't take offense, but Mr. Zabel's actions are detrimental to both you and the company. He's only causing you pain. It might be better to consider a divorce sooner rather than later. It could bring you some relief,” Winston advised earnestly, his voice low.
  • Serena's face was as cold as ice as she replied, “Mr. Zachs, this is my personal matter. I appreciate your concern, but please refrain from making such comments in the future.”
  • Winston paused, then quickly chuckled. “Ms. Yates, I'm only looking out for you.”
  • With a deep sigh, Serena said, “All right, you should go home and rest now. You still have work tomorrow.”
  • After speaking, Serena headed straight for the spiral staircase, ascending toward her room on the second floor.
  • Winston wasn't ready to give up. His gaze landed on Benjamin, who was seated on the couch. “Mr. Zabel, may I have a word with you?”
  • Benjamin furrowed his brow. “Mr. Zachs, what is it that you wish to discuss?”
  • “Self-awareness is a virtue. Once, you were the son of the Zabel family, and being with you was a step up for Ms. Yates. But now, you're just the discarded heir. If you truly care for Ms. Yates, you should let her go and give her a chance at a better life,” Winston said bluntly.
  • Benjamin was known for being reserved in Junbert. Even the company's employees would shout at him, so naturally, Winston wasn't intimidated by his status as Serena's husband.
  • “This is my personal matter. There's no need for you to worry,” Benjamin said calmly. “I believe I have what it takes to make Serena happy now!”
  • After three hundred years of cultivation, his resolve was as solid as a rock. Winston's provocation was like a pebble thrown at a mountain, not even causing a ripple in his heart.
  • Winston scoffed, “You think you can make Ms. Yates truly happy? One day, she will come to her senses. And you should know that she doesn't even like you.”
  • “Whether she loves me or not is her business. But ultimately I failed her. I will give her what she wants.”
  • “Hmph, enough said. You're on your own now.” Winston glanced at him coldly, then turned and left the mansion.
  • Benjamin turned around, only to find Serena standing on the stairs, looking at him. He couldn't help but flash a small smile.
  • The conversation Serena had just overheard made her see Benjamin in a new light. He was different now; never before had he spoken words that warmed her heart like this.
  • Perhaps it was just an illusion. She was a proud and arrogant woman. If not for the overwhelming influence of the Zabel family, she would never have married Benjamin. She wouldn't have had to endure the cold, mocking glances of her close friends, acquaintances, and relatives.
  • “Could you swing by my room?” Serena suddenly asked.
  • Benjamin was momentarily stunned. He recalled marrying Serena without consummating their marriage. Serena was a woman of exceptional beauty and grace, inherently proud. It seemed inconceivable that she could ever be interested in a man like him.
  • Has she already figured it out?
  • However, what left Benjamin torn between laughter and tears was that all Serena had invited him over for was to change a broken lightbulb in her room.
  • Benjamin let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head as he returned to his room. He knew he needed to protect his family and make up for past regrets. To return to his peak, he had to start training immediately to regain his strength.
  • Regrettably, the spiritual energy was too sparse on Azureon. The possibility of cultivating to the highest realm was virtually non-existent. Even if there were people on this planet who practiced cultivation, at most, they would only reach the lower levels.
  • Nevertheless, reincarnation was also an opportunity for him. His previous life had been rife with regrets that had turned into his inner demons. Otherwise, he wouldn't have fallen victim to Nightfang and Siren's surprise attacks.
  • That night, he adjusted his breath, sat cross-legged with his eyes closed, feeling the spiritual energy of the universe, and practiced deep breathing exercises.
  • The following day, by the time he opened his eyes, it was already noon. A foul stench permeated the room. Glancing down, he discovered that his body had expelled its impurities, turning his white shirt into a shade of black.
  • This marked the beginning of all cultivation, where the unnecessary was discarded to retain only the essence.
  • With a resigned, bitter chuckle, he took a shower and changed his clothes before heading to the living room. Thanks to his experience from his previous life and the dominant Golden Body Technique, he managed to break through the first level of Initial Realm in just one night.
  • “Huh?” Benjamin noticed a bank card on the coffee table, along with a note.
  • It read: Here's ten thousand. Use it for your living expenses.
  • Benjamin couldn't help but let out a wry smile, picking up the bank card. “Just wait. Once I regain my strength, I promise I won't break your heart again.”
  • He hailed a taxi and headed out, stopping at the largest pharmacy in the city. There, he purchased a variety of medicinal herbs and supplies. By the time he was done, he had spent all ten thousand in his possession.
  • Money really doesn't seem to go far these days. Just buying a few things and ten thousand is spent clean. With so many people practicing combat arts now, it's no wonder the price of medicinal herbs remains high.
  • Even though I've entered Initial Realm, I understand that every journey begins with a single step. Spiritual energy is like an ocean, and my body is the vessel that holds it. If I focus solely on cultivating my spiritual techniques without strengthening my physical body, I'll never be able to defy the heavenly law, let alone inherit the mandate of heaven to rule over all things.
