Chapter 11 He Wants To Meet You

  • The woman appeared to be around thirty-five or thirty-six, dressed in flamboyantly bright colors. She spoke hesitantly, stammering slightly. “The development department's new product hit a bit of a snag, so there's a slight delay in the timeline.”
  • “How much longer will it take?”
  • “About a month, I guess.”
  • Benjamin furrowed his brows. In any company, the marketing and development departments are critical. A delay in a product launch not only drains resources but also risks missing key windows to maximize sales.
  • “Mr. Zachs, is everything okay with the transportation department?” Benjamin's gaze fell upon Winston.
  • Upon regaining his composure, Winston looked at Benjamin, a hint of unease flickering across his face. “There are no issues with the transportation department. The materials are already on their way.”
  • Benjamin's gaze slowly swept over the room as he warned, “This company belongs to Rena, and I won't tolerate any hidden agendas. If anyone intends to stir up trouble, I will make sure they face the consequences.”
  • Winston clenched his teeth in frustration. Benjamin had always been a loser in his eyes, and seeing him now, brimming with confidence and spirit, irritated him deeply.
  • Once Benjamin had gathered all the necessary information, he rose and left the conference room alone, while everyone silently watched him go.
  • “Rena, I failed you in our past life. But this time, I've returned a new man, and I promise I won't let you down,” he whispered to himself as he walked away.
  • Inside the conference room, the remaining attendees exchanged bewildered glances, as if they had just awakened from a dream. Since when did Serena's husband, the man everyone once despised, become so formidable that even Sterling was intimidated and forced to back down?
  • Meanwhile, Serena was eager to be discharged and return to work at her company after spending two days resting in the hospital. At the same time, Benjamin remained fully committed to his intense training. He knew that only by building his strength could he defend himself against the world.
  • Benjamin stood beside a willow tree, large enough for a grown man to encircle with his arms. He threw a punch at the tree trunk, sending green leaves cascading like rain. Astonishingly, his punch pierced straight through the trunk. If such a blow were to land on a person, it would almost certainly punch right through them.
  • Retracting his fist, Benjamin murmured to himself, “My training is progressing too slowly. On Azureon, spiritual energy is scarce, and medicinal herbs are rare. Even if ancient herbs exist, they come at an exorbitant price. Otherwise, I would have already concocted the Soulstone to accelerate my progress.”
  • In reality, he had only been reincarnated for ten days but had already broken through to the third level of the Initial Realm, a feat that would take an average cultivator a month, even in the Immortal World where spiritual energy was abundant. Despite the challenging environment, he continued to cultivate steadily, laying a solid foundation. His speed was already impressive, but it wasn't enough.
  • As he trained, another concern nagged at him—the need for medicinal herbs. “I can't keep asking Serena for more money. She'd think I'm nothing but a freeloader if I did.”
  • Besides, Serena's company was struggling financially, adding to her burdens.
  • Benjamin sighed inwardly. “I must find a way to acquire medicinal herbs and concoct the Soulstone on my own.”
  • Lost in thought, he wandered aimlessly until he found himself at the entrance of the villa. A sleek black Land Rover was parked outside. As he approached, the vehicle's doors opened, and several men in black stepped out.
  • Benjamin's gaze hardened as recognition set in. It was Sterling and Trey, both with their arms wrapped in plaster casts and bandages.
  • A steely glint flashed in Benjamin's eyes. “Are you two still looking for revenge?”
  • Sterling's face split into a sycophantic grin. “Mr. Zabel, we're not here to cause trouble.” He swiftly kicked Trey, urging him, “Apologize to Mr. Zabel right now!”
  • Trey stumbled forward, bowing deeply. “Mr. Zabel, I apologize for my earlier disrespect. Please forgive my ignorance.”
  • Amused but mildly puzzled by their sudden change in attitude, Benjamin chuckled. “If you're not here for revenge, then what brings you?”
  • “Mr. Zabel, Mr. Tristan wishes to meet you. He has already prepared a feast at The Virtue and is waiting for you now,” Sterling stated.
  • Benjamin furrowed his brows. The Virtue was one of the most prestigious clubs in Junbert, its parking lot filled with luxury cars like Rolls-Royce Phantoms and Porsche 911s. Even parking an Audi beside them would be considered humiliating.
  • In his previous life, Benjamin had heard of Tristan's notorious reputation. Tristan ruled the underworld of Xudbury, a district in Junbert. However, they had never crossed paths, as they belonged to entirely different social circles.
  • Sterling's eyes shifted nervously. “Mr. Zabel, I promise, Mr. Tristan just wants to meet with you.”
  • His tone suggested that he believed Benjamin was reluctant, wary of being tricked.
  • Benjamin shook his head inwardly. In my previous life, I battled titans, spirits, and demon beasts across the Immortal World. Why would I trouble myself over a mere local despot from Junbert's underworld?
  • Curious about what Tristan could want from him, Benjamin gave a small nod. “All right, I'll go with you.”
  • Sterling wasted no time, opening the car door with a fawning smile. Benjamin stepped in, and the car sped off from the mansion.
  • Virtue Gardens drew its name from an ancient civilization's garden. Its interior was brimmed with antique charm, with pear blossom purple sandalwood furniture and blue stone slab flooring. Nestled alongside the river, the building gave visitors the illusion of traveling back in time the moment they crossed the threshold.
