• Eve stood at the window, watching the first light of dawn spread across Magnifico Arco. The village was peaceful, the tranquility a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions and activities she and Danny had experienced over the past months. She turned to look at Danny, still asleep, his face relaxed and content. A deep sense of love and commitment welled up inside her. Today, she decided, would be a day to reaffirm that commitment.
• She quietly slipped out of bed, careful not to wake him, and headed to the kitchen.
