Chapter 55

• Dawn breaks and Cateline wakes up startled. She hadn’t been able to sleep at all because of the wolf she had seen last night. She sits up in bed feeling drowsy and stretches her arms. The young woman goes to the bathroom to do her morning hygiene routine, as always, washing her face and tending to her enormous locks that require effort. Once she finishes, she feels cleaner with her hair combed and loose. She puts on her shoes and decides to go meet her mother, Milenna, and Mrs. Ellen; they must have been waiting for breakfast.
• Cate opens the door, looking around anxiously. It was bright, and she could see the surroundings. Fortunately, there was no sign that the wolf was nearby. She closes the door after leaving and heads to the main entrance of the inn.
