• As the two made their way back through the woods, Cate wondered how Felix managed to see and walk through that darkness; she couldn't see anything, yet he walked as if it were as clear as day.
• Cateline rested her face on the young man's back and felt how warm he was; his back was broad and strong. She remembered the first time she touched him, and felt those muscles, and at the thought, her heart raced. She had to stop; she couldn't think of those things. It wasn't the right time for that.
