Chapter 114 I'm Sorry
- ~Maya’s POV~
- The alarm went off with such a resounding chime at one in the morning, shattering the tranquility of the night and penetrating my auditory canals with its piercing tones. After a few minutes, I was able to open my eyes and turn off the alarm. I took a quick glance around the room before donning my slippers, putting on my bathrobe, and covering myself with it. It had just the right amount of warmth. I got up and started walking towards the door. My eyes immediately widened as soon as I opened the door. My spouse was asleep outside my room, so the allegations were real after all. After everyone had gone to sleep, Zion would come and sleep outside my door. He would wait until everyone was asleep before doing this. Am I a wicked wife? What would the workers think of me? Lucas told me that Zion has never slept in our matrimonial bedroom since the day I moved out. Zion has been sleeping on the floor all this time. I was so close to shedding a tear when I realized how out of his comfort zone he must have felt. I got down on one knee in front of him and gently stroked his cheek. He woke up almost immediately. He stared at me with such sadness in his eyes. I could see he really regret his actions
- “I’m sorry.” That’s what he said while I looked at him. “Maya, I am at a point where I can no longer continue like this. I miss you. I miss my wife and kids. Maya, God knows how much I’m sorry for what I did. I miss you. I made a mistake, but I can’t. I can’t take any more of this.” Even though I felt sorry for him, I didn’t want to give him any hope.
