• The elevator doors swung open, and Emily bowed. "Hello, Mr. Barker. I'm your new assistant, Emily."
• A new assistant? Jay frowned and took a closer look at Emily. She didn't look half bad, and she seemed professional. The guy thought the chairman got him a pretty assistant to compensate for his loss. Even so, he wasn't cheered up. He waved at Emily. "Come with me."
• He took a seat behind his desk in the office. "Show me your resume."
