• "Alpha, Beta Khai is waiting for you inside." Mac led Wyatt through the hallway and stopped in front of the door to the conference room. As Wyatt pushed the door open, he saw Beta Khai smile at him.
• While Wyatt was familiar with Alpha Jaylani, he had never met her younger brother, Beta Khai. According to the rumors, Khai was a young yet experienced leader. He was quick-witted and strong-willed, which was enough to irritate Wyatt. Just the thought of such a Beta caring so much about Harper made him jealous.
• "Alpha Wyatt," Beta Khai bowed, "It's a pleasure to meet you." He kept his head lowered and glanced behind Wyatt. "I thought Harper would be coming with you."
