Chapter 7 Let The Game Begin
- CHAPTER SEVEN
- (LET THE GAME BEGIN)
- Tristan's POV
- I drove out of the school compound with rage. I had never been more embarrassed all my life. I was always idolized by everyone. Not only did that weirdo confront me, she dared to slap me and stomp on me. Did she not know who I am?
- I was more angry at the fact that dad couldn't even do a thing about it. I had stomped to his office in anger to report that girl to him and have her punished but what I heard from him threw me off-balance.
- "You'll have to overlook this one, Tristan. That girl is not a match for you. I can't punish or expel her either." Dad had told me.
- "What!" I shouted with anger. "A girl hit me Dad! How do you expect me to let it slide? Who is she that you can't expel her? I'm..."
- Dad interrupted me with annoyance.
- "Keep quiet son! This unruly behavior of yours almost landed me in trouble today! I spent all my life building the legacy of this school. I will not allow you to destroy all that I've built for years with your foolish actions.
- I don't want to ever hear about any of your foolish display of behavior again. If this ever repeat itself, I won't take it lightly with you. I won't allow myself to be embarrassed in that manner ever again."
- "She embarrassed him? What is he talking about?" I thought to myself.
- I was about to argue further when dad stood up and walked out of his office, leaving me on the stand. I was completely surprised and shocked by his actions. Dad had never raised his voice at me. He would willingly do all I ask of him but that morning was totally an exception. He looked scared and upset.
- "What's so special about her?" I muttered with annoyance as I drove to Ryan's penthouse, a luxurious building erected by the countryside. It was furnished with expensive items and built with such luxury that I found myself secretly envying him. I couldn't deny the fact that Ryan was richer than me.
- The security guards opened the gate on sighting my car- no questions asked. I drove in speedily and went straight to the living room. Ryan , Alexander and Scott were already there. I guessed they've been expecting me.
- I slumped onto the sofa, seething with anger and frustration.
- "We heard about what happened." Scott said, approaching me.
- "I have never been this disgraced all my life. How dare her?" I thundered."The fact that my old man couldn't even do a thing about her is more annoying."
- "Wow! She must be from a really influential home. Sir Nick might have it slide because he doesn't want to disappoint her parents." Alexander observed, holding a can of Coke.
- "Disappoint my foot!" I said with a scoff." she challenged me right in front of everyone. This is all because of that Daisy girl.
- Alexander opened the can and gulped the contents with satisfaction.
- "Your video is going viral on the Lilyvites group chat." he informed me and sat beside me.
- "What video?" I asked with exasperation.
- Scott showed me the video of everything that transpired earlier that morning.
- I scoffed. I knew that the students would not dare post it online. The school would definitely fish them out.
- Hissing with anger, I said, "I'm going to deal with that strange girl. She will be forced to leave the school by the time I'm done with her."
- Scott zoomed in on the girl's picture and looked at it with doubt. Showing us the picture, he commented, "Guys, no matter how much I think about it, I have never seen this girl before. I guess she is new. She said it in the video that she doesn't know who Tristan is and that explains her actions."
- Alexander collected the phone from him and looked at the girl's picture with intent. "I think Scott is right. I have never seen her before either."
- He turned to Ryan who had been playing video games. He had never said a word ever since my arrival. I felt infuriated by his nonchalance towards the issue. He had always been that way anyways. He was always acting all cold and indifferent.
- "Have you seen her before?" Alexander asked him. He took a quick glance at the picture and shook his head. "No, I haven't." he simply responded and resumed his game.
- I ignored him and faced the others. "Then that brings us to the conclusion that she's new."
- They nodded in agreement with my words.
- "I will make life unbearable for her." I swore. No one said anything thereafter.
- Scott sat beside Ryan and picked up a game pad, playing the game alongside Ryan while Alexander took his phone and began to scroll through it
- There was silence in the room for a while. I became engrossed with the thought of making the girl pay for embarrassing me. I was going to make her pay at all costs. There was no way I was going to make her go scot-free. I decided to teach her a lesson or two.
- I brought out my phone and dialed a number. Within few seconds, the call got picked up.
- "Boss, " The receiver spoke from the other end.
- "I'm going to forward a picture to you after this call. Find out everything about that lady within forty-eight hours. I'll pay you once you do what you are asked to do."
- "Consider it a done deal, boss." he said and I hung up.
- Scott turned his chair to me and looked at me with an appealing look.
- "Don't you think you're taking things too far Tristan."
- "I don't" I replied him with a grim look.
- Scott looked at Ryan and Alexander. "Won't you guys contribute to this? Why are we friends if we can't talk to each other?" He said, looking unhappy.
- Ryan sighed and dropped his game pad and turned his chair around too while Alexander looked up from his phone and folded his arms with reluctance.
- Ryan finally spoke up, speaking with calmness. "I really do not want to contribute anything to this matter but I think I should give Tristan a piece of my mind."
- I gave him a questioning look, wondering what he was driving at
- Ryan shifted in his gaming chair and looked at me with a more serious look.
- "Tristan, see I get that you were angered by Daisy who stepped on your shoes but hitting her and asking her to clean your shoes with her hair was disrespectful and way too extreme. I believe that you could have just ignored her and let her be than hitting her. Don't you think?"
- I scoffed, anger brewing inside of me. "Ryan, what exactly are you driving at? That dirty girl touched me. Why should I let her be? Those shoes are the latest on my collection. Do you know how much they cost?" I responded, my voice rising.
- Scott gave me a gentle tap on the shoulder in an attempt to calm me down.
- "It seems you're not getting Ryan's point. He was trying to say that you should never hit a lady. To be honest, I felt disappointed when I watched the video. Hitting a girl is the last thing I will ever do. I know that what I'm saying may not be going down well with you but we need to tell each other than truth. You are giving the starlights a bad image with your actions.
- Ryan continued from where Scott stopped.
- "Do you know how embarrassed you felt when that lady slapped you? Think about how bad Daisy felt when you hit her."
- Alexander nodded in agreement.
- "I agree with Scott and Ryan. That was so wrong of you. I think you owe Daisy an apology for treating her that way."
- I had heard enough. " Why aren't you guys supporting me? Why are you all against me?" I blurted out in anger.
- "Chill man! You're not getting the point." Scott said, trying to make me see reasons with him.
- Without saying another word, I took my phone and walked out of the room, angry and hurt, ignoring the calls of the other starlights. I felt my pride wounded.
- "Let the game begin!" I muttered as I drove straight to the clubhouse to cool my head off.
