Chapter 6 Threat Ii

  • CHAPTER SIX
  • (Threat II)
  • Amelia's POV
  • Those were the words I needed to hear, the right words. I looked at my phone and I smiled. I was going to play a mind game with the school director.
  • "Send the video to me." I insisted.
  • Gerald looked at me and sighed. Not uttering another word, he took the phone from me and forwarded the video to it.
  • "Thank you." I said with a smile. "Let's go."
  • Gerald gazed at me, wondering what I was up to.
  • "Don't say I didn't warn you."
  • Neither of us said a word to the other until we got to a big building built with glass. We entered and met the secretary, a pretty young woman. She looked up from her computer and stared at us with a questioning gaze.
  • "The director asked us to see him." Gerald explained to her.
  • "Oh! Give me a second." she stood up and entered the office nearest to her. She came out almost immediately.
  • "He said you can come in." she informed us and went back to her desk.
  • Gerald opened the door to the director's office and went in while I followed suit.
  • The office had an inviting and professional outlook. The expensive furnishings gave the room a more captivating look.
  • He was seated on a swivel chair, attending to some files when we entered.
  • "Good day sir." We greeted him.
  • He looked up and stared at me in anger, ignoring our greetings.
  • "Oh, so you are the lady who hit my son." he said, sizing me up with his eyes. He removed his glasses and shook his head.
  • "But sir," I began to defend myself.
  • "No buts, " he interrupted me angrily
  • "Tristan is the only heir to this great institution. He needs to be treated with respect. That lady must have crossed her boundaries. Tristan put her where she belongs." he said, referring to Daisy.
  • I felt sick as I listened to his comments.I felt as though the world was unfair. Daisy's only fault was not coming from a rich and influential home.
  • The old man stood up from his chair and went to sit in one of the sofas in the room.
  • He faced Gerald. "Gerald, didn't you inform her that hitting others is considered a very serious offence in this school?" He queried.
  • "The incident took place before she came to the class sir. I promise to educate her on the school rules sir."
  • "Too late." Sir Nick waved him off.
  • My heart skipped a beat as I patiently waited for him to spell out the dreaded words.
  • "She is expelled." he finally said.
  • Voilà, that was the perfect time for me to strike.
  • I looked at him with a bold expression. "I guess I have nothing to lose now."
  • The director glared at me. "Excuse you?"
  • "Tristan can hit a person but I can't? You think he can put a person in his place but I can't? Sir, you're the school's director. All you care about is your son and the money you make from running the school.
  • You give a number of students scholarship every year. Do you even know how badly they get treated by the other kids? If I were the daughter of some rich politician or a popular business man, you'd never think of expelling me.
  • Now, I can see the real scheme behind your scholarship scheme. It's not because you really care. It's because you are desperate. You want people to have a good image about your school and make them give it a lot of hype to increase the patronage." I told him, straight-forwardly.
  • I could see a pang of guilt in his eyes as he stared at me, speechless. I brought out my phone and showed him the video.
  • "I guess you've seen this. Now that I'm no longer a student of this school, I can do whatever I like with this video. How about forwarding this to the press and make them write captivating articles about how the heir to Lilyviles high school bullies others? You sure do know that other high schools see you as a competition.
  • What if they use this video to their own advantage by using it against you and make the parents believe that this school isn't a safe space for their kids?"
  • "You'll do no such thing!" Sir Nick roared. His voice shook with fear and rage.
  • I smirked and waved the phone in the air.
  • "I can imagine the interesting headlines that will be on the news by tomorrow." I laughed and paused, taping my head like someone in deep thought.
  • "The heir to Lilyviles high school is a bully."
  • "Tristan Nick is an high school terror."
  • "Tristan Nick asks a girl to clean his shoes with her hair."
  • "LHS, a home of bullies."
  • "Stop!" Sir Nick screamed, his lips quivering.
  • "Are you threatening me right now?"
  • I shrugged. "Well... I guess you can call it that."
  • "What do you want from me?"
  • "Restore my studentship and I'll not post the video."
  • After minutes of battling with his thoughts, he spoke up.
  • "Fine, you'll be expelled anymore. I must not see the video on the internet. If it gets posted and you are discovered to be the poster, I'll sue you."
  • "Yes sir" I said with an innocent look.
  • "Stay away from my son." he warned me.
  • I smiled wryly. "He should be the one to stay away from me sir. If he crosses his boundary again, I will break his jaw."
  • I watched with glee as the old man flicked at my words.
  • "With that said, have a good day sir." I said with a bow and walked out of the office.
  • "Bye sir " I heard Gerald say.
  • "Wow! You're one hell of a lady. That was a boss move, I must confess. No one has ever dared to challenge the director on his son's misdemeanor." Gerald said when we were out of earshot.
  • I only smiled and didn't give a response.
  • "But Amelia, do you really think it's all over now?" he asked with worry as we walked back to our classroom.
  • "We will see about that." I simply replied.
