Chapter 6 Portrait Of Him
- “DROP ME OFF on the corner,” I pointed to him, who immediately braked.
- I opened the door, but it was locked. So I turned my frown face to him and shot him a glare.
- “Open the door,” I said emphatically.
- But he just kept holding on to the steering wheel.
- “Can you please open the door so I can get down?”
- I heard him sigh. I was swallowed up ’cause I was the one who kept my gaze away from him.
- “They followed us,” he said, glancing in the rearview mirror, so I quickly turned around.
- “Damn! What’s wrong with them?” I seem to have run out of patience.
- “They want the truth,” he said. And the car started again.
- “Wait. Where are you taking me?” Out of shock, I grabbed his arm.
- He glanced down at my hand, and then he smirked.
- “Oh, I’m sorry,” I quelled.
- “We’re going to my pad. There’s a lot of security there. They won’t ask you any questions,” he said.
- “What?!” I got my back in the car chair because of what he said.
- “Yeah.” He nodded.
- “No! I will not go in your pad!” I shook my head repeatedly.
- “You want this to end, right? I will tell them the truth,” he calmly said.
- “What are you saying?!” I said in a high tone.
- “Just trust me.” He glanced back at me darkly.
- I was stunned by the way he said that. I immediately avoided looking at him. Damn! Was that really how he looked? Why was his stare strange?
- I could feel my sweat running through my forehead even though the aircon of his car was strong.
- I just chose to keep quiet the whole trip. I also don’t want to open another topic because I was avoiding looking into his eyes.
- Until we reached a particular building.
- “Follow me.” His voice has authority, so I followed him, and I hate it more.
- I leaned back in the elevator as we entered. We were the only two inside, so I heard his release of heavy breath.
- I couldn’t help but glance at him. He was just standing there with both hands hidden in the pocket of his pants.
- I can say his body was well-shaped. His elegance was also evident in the width of his shoulders. What does he look like when he is half-naked?
- I immediately closed my lips when I saw his reflection on the elevator’s door staring at me.
- “Are you done checking on me?” He looked at me over his shoulder.
- Immediately, the redness rose on my two cheeks, so I folded our arms before answering.
- “I don’t know what you’re talking about . . .” I trailed off and looked away.
- He smirked and leaned onto the wall next to me. “That’s why you just want to undress me while turning your back on you?” He smirked again.
- “What?!” I raised my back to lean and faced him.
- He nodded while his lips turned up wide.
- “It’s fine, babe. Girls couldn’t resist my existence. That’s not new to me,” he said in a husky voice.
- My eyebrows met even more because of the arrogance of this one. I must admit that he is really handsome and has something to be proud of, but does he really need to say that?
- To not increase the air in his mind, I just stared at the door and kept quiet.
- The elevator opened, and he came out first, and I immediately followed. We quickly reached the pad he was saying because it was only a few doors from there.
- “Come in.” He eased the door open and went inside.
- I reluctantly followed after turning to the hallway.
- I rolled my eyes for a moment since entering. This pad was great. I can say this was one of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen.
- The building was contemporary and well furnished, with pastel cream, gray, and white colors. The enormity of the flat-screen TV in front of me made my lips quiver. Even the mini bar, which I could see from where I was standing, was a piece of art in terms of craftsmanship.
- “Sit down.” When he came out of a door, he was no longer wearing a jacket. I was erect because of the thin white shirt he was wearing.
- Oh, hell! What did the T-shirt he was wearing say to the six-pack abs of his scratches that seemed to be just designed for it?
- He snatched the cellphone from his pocket and called someone before turning his back on me. There, I felt the softening of my two knees, so I sat down.
- “You can’t do this, Dawzon!” I almost jumped when I heard his loud voice.
- He glanced at me first before he continues.
- “Then how about Lara?” He leaned his back to the closed door and held on to his senses.
- I saw his jaw tightened several times while listening to the speaker. But it didn’t lessen his sexiness. He became even more attractive because of the repetitive movements of his perfect jaw.
- “Okay,” he said, then dropped the call.
- He went back into his room, and in a few moments, he has dressed again. He’s now wearing his black leather jacket with a gray T-shirt underneath and the same pants and shoes he wore earlier.
- He was about to come out when he noticed my presence, so he turned forward.
- “I’ll be back in a minute. Just feel at home.” After that, he turned his back on me and left.
- “Wait!” I chased after him, but he finally came out the door.
- I sighed and went back to my seat and waited patiently.
- An hour passed, but Rexon wasn’t back home. So I decided to get up and head to the kitchen and find the refrigerator. My throat was already dry.
- I went back to the living room while carrying the glass with only cold water. But I couldn’t help but glance at the photos hanging in different corners of the wall.
- My footsteps came to a halt in front of a portrait of him. Why can’t I avoid staring into his eyes? There seems to be energy pulling me to keep staring at him. And in the end, I did not feel I was getting tired.
- I also caressed the photo of him sitting on a bench with both arms outstretched. That was the usual leather jacket he was wearing that seemed to be his trademark as a singer.
- I slowly slid my finger to his lips. My heart thumping so hard against my chest as my fingers touched his picture more. I slowly closed my eyes and imagined him kissing me soft and tender.
- Then the door suddenly opened, so I jumped in shock when the contents of the glass I was holding poured into my clothes.
- “Oh, shit!” I exclaimed as I watched him come in a while staring at me.
- “What are you doing?” He frowned as he approached.
- “Ah! Nothing. I-I just went to your kitchen and grabbed some w-water!” I stuttered. I swallowed because his eyes dropped to my now wet clothes.
- “And you pour it over your shirt like that?” He folded his arms over his chest then caressed his lips in front of me as if holding back a smile, and I could not fathom it.
- “No! It was just that . . .” I glanced at the photo of him before turning my gaze back to him again, that was now smiling at me.
- “Are you surprised?” He kept laughing in front of me, so my lips parted as I watched him.
- Oh, Lord! Why is he so incredibly sexy? Those pearly teeth. Those piercing and his brown but not so dark eyes. Gosh! He’s so damn perfect!
- But I quickly shook my head and just raised an eyebrow at him. “Why didn’t you knock first?” I shook my wet clothes and tried to turn away.
- “Why would I do that? This is my house anyway. It’s not my fault if you fantasize about my photo, and you’re surprised when I entered my own house.”
- I faced him and shut him with my squinted eyes. “What did you say?”
- “I was just telling the truth. I saw you.” He tugged up his lips, then he shrugged before turning his back on me.
- My two cheeks immediately warmed with embarrassment. Shit! He saw me holding a photo of him. I shook my head.
- I was shocked when he came out again, handing me a white T-shirt.
- “Here, change your clothes, so you don’t get sick.” He handed the T-shirt to me and snatched the empty glass from me. He also pointed to where the bathroom was.
- “Thank you,” I said softly before turning my back on him and went to the bathroom.
- I smelled his T-shirt before I put it on in fairness to the clothes he lent to me, its smelled good. It was so sweet that I smelled it again before wearing it. My lips curved because it reached my thigh because of my brittle body.
