Chapter 27 Perfect Night

• “Raquel,”
• Gavin walked into the bedroom and saw Raquel asleep on the bed. She was lying face down, with her feet on the pillow and one pillow supporting her chest. Her lips were slightly parted, and her breathing was even. He knew she was exhausted from working on her thesis late into the night. The laptop was still on in front of her, and the screen was aglow.
• Gavin gently turned off the laptop and sighed when he saw the papers next to Raquel. They were covered in red ink, and he knew they were from her thesis advisor. He shook his head in disbelief. Raquel was always so careless. She hadn’t even checked her sources before turning in her work.
