Chapter 7 Remember To Keep Quiet
- Ethan pressed his entire body against hers, and in that moment, they were so close that their eyes locked.
- Avery tried to struggle, but Ethan’s strength was overpowering as he gripped her arm tightly, his expression dark.
- “What do you want from me?” Avery gritted through her teeth.
- “I want you,” Ethan’s voice was rough, his gaze darkened.
- In the heavy, charged atmosphere, Ethan’s large hand slid over Avery’s soft body. The instant he entered, she let out a soft gasp.
- This time, Ethan wasn’t gentle like before. He was rougher, wilder, taking what he wanted from her with relentless intensity.
- Their breaths tangled in the heat of the moment, both of them lost in the pleasure, completely consumed by the sensations. Avery, at first passive, soon found herself responding, taking the lead, letting herself lose control, letting herself move with abandon against him.
- They forgot everything, losing themselves in each other’s bodies.
- Time seemed to blur, and finally, everything quieted down.
- Avery, disheveled and aching, lay limply on the couch. Ethan had been rougher than usual, and now, she could feel a dull pain and numbness in her body.
- Meanwhile, Ethan had already dressed in his suit again, returning to his polished, aristocratic appearance, adjusting his sleeves as though nothing had happened.
- He seemed to have transformed in the blink of an eye from the beast in bed to the refined elite. The only proof of their wild passion were the faint scratches on his broad back.
- Avery, still half-dazed, stared at his retreating figure, momentarily forgetting that he was about to get engaged.
- Once he finished fixing his suit, Ethan turned around and locked eyes with her. His gaze quickly shifted back to cold detachment.
- “You know we’re only suited for this kind of relationship. After this, let’s not contact each other again.”
- His words were so cold, they cut straight through Avery’s chest.
- Before leaving, Ethan took a card from his wallet and placed it on the table, looking down at Avery from above.
- “This is your final compensation. Don’t contact me again.”
- With those words, Ethan grabbed his phone and wallet, heading for the door.
- Avery, watching his tall, indifferent figure, clenched her fists tightly.
- But just as Ethan was about to open the door, Avery spoke up.
- “Wait.”
- Ethan hesitated but didn’t turn around, only pausing mid-step.
- Avery sat up from the couch, her shoulder still exposed, her tone serious as she said, “This is the price for tonight. It’s not enough for me to keep quiet.”
- Hearing this, Ethan’s face darkened in disappointment.
- He turned, took out his phone, and transferred $100,000 into Avery’s account without saying a word.
- “I’m so disappointed in you,” Ethan’s voice was cold, sharper than before.
- Avery held her head high, though inside, it felt as though her heart was bleeding.
- Since Ethan already thought of her as a shameless woman, Avery didn’t mind deepening that misconception. After all, they would never have anything to do with each other again.
- “Remember to keep quiet,” Ethan warned, his eyes chilling as he stared at Avery. “If I find out you’ve said anything, don’t expect me to be kind.”
- Avery stood frozen, staring at him, her thoughts momentarily lost.
- “Oh?” she scoffed, standing up to face him. “If something happens to me one day, I’ll tell the world. Let’s see how your fiancée will look at you then. Do you think she’ll still marry you?”
- Ethan shot her a cold glare. “I didn’t expect you to be this kind of woman.”
- “What kind of woman I am is none of your business,” Avery replied, her brow furrowed.
- Ethan didn’t want to say anything more. His eyes darkened with a fire that couldn’t be tamed.
- He turned on his heel and left the room, as if he never wanted to see Avery again for the rest of his life.
- “I used to think you were pure and kind, but now I see you for what you really are.”
- With those words, he slammed the door behind him, disappearing as if he’d never been there at all.
