• Ethan calmly straightened his clothes, then turned to glance at Avery, who remained resolute.
• He didn’t want to waste any more time or energy on her, though a hint of reluctant longing still lingered in his heart.
• Picking up his phone and car keys, he spoke firmly, “Remember what I just said.” With that, he turned, his presence cold as he walked out of the bedroom, through the living room, and quietly closed the door behind him, as if he didn’t want to disturb the peace.
