Chapter 44

• An hour later, I pull up to the address William sent me. A relatively decent high rise, but this was on seedy sides of town where I wouldn’t feel safe at night, nor would I welcome clientele. I already made up my mind to turn it down as I walked up the door. I pull the handle, but it doesn’t budge. I frown, annoyed I had already wasted my time for a place that was even open. I grunt and pull my phone from my pocket to call William, but before I do, I check my message; nope, Gio still hasn’t replied, which put me in an even more sour mood as I’m about to call William and tell him off a huge guy around 6,5 and built like a linebacker opens the door. He doesn’t say a word. He just holds the door for me.
• “Where is William?” I ask, but he remains mute. I frown and enter the building. The man closes the door behind me and starts walking. I look at him, confused, but he walks past me. I exhale sharply and follow as he leads me deeper into the building. Finally, we arrive at two large doors. He points at the doors and turns to leave.
• “What?” I stare at his back and then the door. I’m livid. I swear I’m going to choke William once I see him. I walk up to the door and tear it open...
