• The Uber pulled to a stop in front of my gate. I alighted, just as my watch alarm chimed 9:30 pm. I exhaled in relief. I didn't stay past my curfew time.
• I punched in the code, instead of ringing the bell and disturbing my mother whom I bet must be asleep by now. The gate slid open and I walked in, sighting my Jeep stationed at its favorite spot. My father had taken care of it, as he had said. Then, my mind homed in on the fact that I didn't drop my key with him. How was he able to drive the car out of there?
