Chapter 5
- "You turn around." Bright's eyes landed on Rose's rigid back.
- Rose scowled intensely. She stayed where she was and continued to struggle.
- "Miss Linder, president Lee is calling for you." The person at reception reminded Rose.
- Rose's gaze remained on the ground as she slowly turned to face Bright, screaming "it's over" in her heart. She was afraid to look him in the eye.
- Her legs ached from guilt, which she felt intensely.
- "Hold up your head." Bright fixed his gaze on Rose, but his voice was soft and authoritative enough that no one could ignore.
- Then Rose looked up, but it was across Bright at another place.
- She wouldn't be as scared as she would be if she avoided staring into his amazing eyes.
- Rose had a lovely face; her lips were like cherry blossoms, and her eyes were charming and brilliant. Her smooth hair looked polished and competent as it was pulled back into a low ponytail.
- A well-fitting black suit for her, pencil pants that highlighted her stunning legs, and white high heels... This was one stylish woman, from head to toe.
- "Mr. Lee, what's the matter?" Rose made an effort to unwind and acted in a natural way.
- "Who are you?" Bright's eyes twitched in narrowness.
- He noticed something familiar emanating from her body as he walked by.
- "My name is Rose Linder and I work as a senior designer for City Y's YM Group. I'm here today to discuss the theater design project with Mr. Hank of HY Group." With poise, Rose gave her name and explained why she was there.
- "Rose..." Bright said with a hint of fun in her dark eyes as she took time to savor the name.
- However, Rose noticed a slight warmth on her face due to how close he uttered her name.
- Her heart twitched nervously.
- With a deep breath, she hoped that Bright wouldn't remember her.
- Ultimately, the lights were dim that night five years ago, and the medication had made it difficult for him to see her properly.
- She also applied a lot of makeup, so presumably he wouldn't believe that the gaudy woman from five years ago and the polished woman she was now were the same person.
- "Miss Linder, have we met before?" Bright gave Rose a sidelong glance.
- Startled, Rose's eyes flared with a hint of panic.
- "I have been residing in City Y, President Lee.
- I have never been to City J before. Furthermore, how could a distinguished individual such as President Lee have encountered a common person like myself? You have to be thinking incorrectly." Rose concealed the past with a small grin.
- "Really?" Bright arched a little brow. "It seemed that I remembered wrong."
- Rose just wanted this episode to stop as quickly as possible, so she stood there feeling quite nervous. "If there isn't anything else president Lee needed, then we'll be heading to the meeting."
- "Miss Linder, I look forward to the cooperation." Bright's attractive face was rendered even more striking and captivating by the mysterious smile that escaped his tiny lips.
- Rose was a little taken aback at first, but she soon composed herself. "President Lee, please advise."
- Rose relaxed as Bright turned around and strode away with his long legs, and she couldn't resist reaching out to tightly pinch her chest. She had a cold sweat all over her back.
- She felt as though she had just finished a difficult battle because of the two-minute chat with Bright; she was mentally and physically worn out.
- David's lighthearted voice could be heard as Bright recovered his gaze from behind Rose. "Bright, Miss Linder is your type?"
- He'd never seen his friend Bright's eyes fix on a woman for longer than three seconds since school. Undoubtedly, there was something strange.
- Bright's eyes only brushed across David's puzzled face. "You are overthinking it."
- David Hank, "...
- Bright strolled by David, and went all the way back to the president's office, sitting behind the huge rosewood desk.
- He pushed open the bottom drawer on the right and brought out two crimson marriage certificates from it. The certificates had been at his office for more than two years. He only looked at them two years ago and never looked at them again.
- Now they were still as brand new and bright as they were when he received three years ago.
- Bright flipped opened one of the marriage certificates with his long fingers. The column for the certificate holder read Rose Linder, and the column for spouse read Bright Lee.
- The woman in the photo had a simple ponytail, her face was clean and pure, and her simple white shirt looked very elegant, but it was hard to hide her outstanding qualities.
- The man next to her was also in a white shirt, his handsome face was indifferent, and he looked detached from the woman.
- Indeed, this wedding photo was a photoshopped product.
- He didn't even show up to get the certificate; his friends did it for him.
- He was in a car accident and injured his leg and was resting in the hospital, but it was imperative to obtain the certificate, so he had to have a friend help me through video.
- "Rose Linder, so you are the Mrs. Lee who I have never met before."
- Bright picked up the phone and dialed a number. "Harry, guess who I saw today."
- The friend Harry Faulkner on the other end of the phone was taken back. "Who? The daughter of the Jin family who came back from studying abroad? She came to pester you again?"
- "It's Mrs. Lee." Bright leaned against the back of the chair, and lightly pressed the edge of the table with one hand, but his eyes did not leave the marriage certificate. "" Harry was stunned for a second and then suddenly realized. "Lee, I almost forgot about it if you didn't tell me. Did she come to find you? Impossible. Ah, she didn't even know that the person who married her was you. And she seems know her place, otherwise I wouldn't have helped you choose her back then."
- Only because Bright's stepmother gained a firm foothold in Lee's family and made quite a lot of moves in recent years. Bright had to get married to get shares in the family. But he wouldn't marry the woman his father and stepmother chose, he was looking out for qualified woman himself.
- Unexpectedly, Harry introduced the desperate Rose him.
- She needed money and Bright needed a contract wife. After three years, she could be free. The only requirement was to abide by the contract, and they would once again become strangers.
- Everything went so smoothly, and all the procedures were handled by Harry, so Bright's knowledge of this nominal wife was limited to the name and photo on the marriage certificate.
- "She is a designer of YM Group and came to talk about work today." Bright did not expect to meet his nominal wife in his company.
- "How does it feel to have your wife talk to you about work?" Harry chuckled, joking with Bright.
- "Her level is not enough for me to personally receive her." Bright replied with much arrogance.
- "Yes, anyway, two months and it'll be three years. It is better not to have unnecessary conflicts before the divorce."
- Harry thought that it was better to avoid trouble.
- "Yeah." Bright disconnected from the line.
- Rose Linder…
- Mrs. Lee...
