Chapter 2

  • Rose seems to have received luck from God after praying.
  • Her period didn't arrive for over a month. She found out she was pregnant after carrying out test.
  • Her eyes flushed with delight as she examined the tiny black area on the ultrasound report she was holding.
  • Following her pregnancy, Rose exercised extreme caution. She kept to herself and suffered from loneliness all the way to labor.
  • Ten months of pregnancy followed by a day's delivery.
  • Rose gave birth to a baby that weighed more than 22 pounds despite her best efforts.
  • Rose thought she saw hope as she heard the infant cry out loud. The baby's blood type was found to be the same as Sky's following a medical examination. She instantly sobbed happy and joyful tears, forgetting all about the agonizing 12 hours of labor after learning that the baby's cord blood might be utilized.
  • "Sky can finally be saved..."
  • After then, Rose's physical and emotional exhaustion finally got to be too much for her, and she dozed off.
  • She was already asleep in the ward when she woke up, and a smiling nurse inquired, "Miss Linder, are you awake? Can I be of any assistance to you?
  • "Where's my baby?" Looking around, Rose did not see her child. Worried, she attempted to sit up.
  • "Never fear. The infant is swimming and having a bath." With attentive assistance, the nurse placed a pillow behind her.
  • "Thank you." Rose was relieved.
  • There is no stronger link in the world than that between people who are related by blood, even though the birth of this child was a last resort. She will love him because she gave birth to him.
  • At this point, the ward door was forced open, and a happy voice emerged. "Sister, I'm here."
  • "Sophie?" When Rose recognized Sophie Linder, she grinned.
  • After giving the nurse the fruits and flowers she had brought, Sophie Linder went to the bedside to join Rose. "I knew you missed me, I came."
  • "How sweet." Rose gave her sister a tender glance.
  • Take a look at what I got for you. This soup is chicken with black bones. I've heard elderly people claim that women who recently gave birth benefit from it. The chicken soup was put into a bowl by Sophie. "Sister, please take more. For brother Sky, you put in a lot of labor."
  • How is Sky doing, Sophie? I'd like to see him. Rose sipped at the chicken soup a few times.
  • She didn't see Sky for about a year and didn't go back home in an effort to give birth covertly and without anyone else knowing.
  • "Sister, the surgeon informed me that he would be operating on him right away. There is no doubt that Brother Sky will recover.
  • I'll be the first to inform him, after his surgery goes well, that you're the reason he could recover. Along with asking him to wed you as quickly as possible, I also want to become lucky and be a bridesmaid." Sophie looked charming and had a big smile on her face as she took Rose's hand.
  • union? Was there still hope for her and Sky after she gave birth to this child?
  • Rose disguised the sadness in her eyes as she drank the chicken soup.
  • "Sister, you need to get enough rest because you're still weak. I will personally take you to see Brother Sky after you've healed.
  • I'll be watching him for you throughout this period, so don't worry and just relax." Sophie spoke joyfully, oblivious to Rose's transformation.
  • Rose reached out and gave Sophie a gentle pat on the back of her hand. "Sophie, you have worked hard to take care of Sky."
  • "I'm glad to hear that. Since we are sisters, my happiness depends on your happiness. After all, you are my only sister."
  • Rose was able to leave the private nursing center after forty days of suffering and waiting around.
  • But a horde of media reporters rushed to surround Rose as she first emerged from the facility's side door with her infant.
  • The reporters' microphones were held in front of her like spears, and the spotlight was flashing nonstop.
  • "Miss Linder, you gave birth covertly after going missing during the year that Mr. Tanner was very unwell. Is this a significant present for Mr. Tanner, who was recently let go?" There was a lot of irony in the reporter's remarks.
  • "Miss Linder is believed to be high-minded, but her personal life is actually quite chaotic. The best evidence is this child.
  • You have an appointment with Mr. Tanner of the Tanner Group, Miss Linder. Of course you cheated on Mr. Tanner. Is he going to pardon you?"
  • "Miss Linder, do you think there's still hope for you to bring this child into the Tanner family?"
  • "Miss Linder, who is the biological father of this child?"
  • "Miss Linder exudes such confidence and freedom.
  • She probably has no idea who this child's biological father is either, hehe."
  • Rose had to cradle the infant in her arms due to a barrage of pointed questions. She had a pallid face.
  • "This is not about you; it's just business of mine. You don't need to hear from me."
  • Only Sophie was aware of her pregnancy and delivery. How on earth were these reporters going to show up right now and spill the beans?
  • Rose's lips were tight as she regarded her doubtful gaze. She felt colder the more she considered it.
  • "How many men Miss Elder Linder wanted to play with and how many children she wanted to have has nothing to do with us, but it has to matter for your fiancée Mr. Tanner."
  • The throng moved to the opposite side at the same moment. Sky Tanner was there, tall and not nearly as sick-looking as she had been. He still looked a little pale, but he had a lot of energy.
  • Strangely icy eyes that had earlier been full of compassion towards Rose. Those eyes betrayed repressed wrath.
  • "Mr. Tanner, are you here to take Miss Linder home?"
  • Is your engagement presently in effect? Are you going to accept the illegitimate kid of Miss Linder?
  • Sky and Rose exchanged enigmatic and complex glances with one another across the throng.
  • Rose didn't expect it to be in this circumstance, but she simply wanted to have a quick glance at him before she left to make sure he was okay.
  • "Sky, can you listen to me?" Rose questioned a little, wanting to make a point for herself and to keep him from seeming foolish in front of everyone.
  • "The reality is apparent already. Is there anything further that needs to be clarified? Believing is seeing. It wouldn't seem like a lie to him. "Does the baby come from nowhere?"
