Chapter 3 Your Equal
- His eyes held no desire, only a chilling coldness that sent shivers down the spine.
- It seemed as though he was reluctantly performing an unpleasant task.
- Remembering his determined tone when he ended the call, Winnie raised her hand again, intending to push him away.
- Jonathan reacted swiftly, grabbing her hands and holding them above her head, his gaze coldly warning her, "Winnie, don't push it too far. I don't have the patience or time to waste with you!"
- Afterwards, he forcefully entered her.
- Winnie was in excruciating pain, tears threatening to spill, but she bit her lip tightly, refusing to make a sound, her body tensing like never before.
- Seeing her resistance, a sinister look flashed in Jonathan's eyes. He cruelly gripped her waist, restraining her and forcing himself upon her.
- After one round, Winnie expected him to leave as usual. However, to her surprise, he seemed like a different person that night. He pressed her face into the pillow and initiated another round of assault.
- Midway through, he leaned close to her ear and whispered hoarsely, "Winnie, if you dare to cause me trouble again, I won't hesitate to divorce you."
- She didn't know how much time had passed, but Winnie couldn't bear it any longer and fainted.
- That night, she slept fitfully.
- She had the same nightmare repeatedly, where the kidnappers questioned why Jonathan didn't care about her life. She replied that it was because he didn't love her, so naturally, he wouldn't care about that.
- Then, the kidnappers pushed her off a cliff.
- Winnie woke up from the dream and sat up abruptly.
- Her pillow and bedsheets were drenched in sweat. She sat there blankly for a while before dragging her battered body to take a shower.
- After breakfast, Winnie drove to the company.
- Just as she stepped out of the elevator, she suddenly heard a female colleague's cheerful voice calling out, "Miss Quinn, I've already tidied up your office."
- Winnie's footsteps halted, and she looked up towards the source of the voice.
- She saw a woman dressed in luxury brand clothing, with long black hair that reached her shoulders, standing elegantly not far away.
- Because Jonathan had protected her so well, Winnie had seen her back countless times but had never seen her face up close.
- She was also curious to know just how astonishing this woman, who had captured Jonathan's heart and made him ignore all other beauties, truly was.
- As if sensing her inquisitive gaze, the woman slowly turned around.
- Their eyes locked, and Winnie understood why Jonathan despised her. It was because she and Lisa were complete opposites.
- One was bright and radiant like the sun, while the other was gentle and graceful like moonlight. They were incomparable.
- "Miss Quinn, this is our General Manager, Miss Thompson," a female colleague enthusiastically introduced, "This is Miss Lisa Quinn."
- A hint of indiscernible emotion flashed in Lisa's eyes, but she quickly smiled gently and said, "Miss Thompson, nice to meet you."
- Winnie nodded indifferently, her expression remaining unchanged. "It's still broad daylight; Miss Quinn arrived a bit too early."
- Lisa's face turned pale. She knew Winnie was insinuating that she was a mistress who would never see the light.
- She felt hatred in her heart, but her expression remained soft.
- "Jon picked me up early in the morning. I apologize."
- Although she apologized, her tone was filled with pride.
- Jon, how affectionate.
- The female colleague sensed the subtle tension between the two and quickly intervened.
- Smiling at Winnie, she said, "Miss Thompson, Miss Quinn will be the new director of the marketing department from now on. She will be on equal footing with you in terms of position, but Mr. Foster said that Miss Quinn is only accountable to him."
