Chapter 5 The Nineteenth Needle
- "These acupuncture points have a powerful restorative effect but also cause the most harm to Madam Hoffman's body.
- "Now that I've removed these three needles, the excessive replenishment effect is greatly weakened, making it more suitable for Madam Hoffman's current condition."
- Gavin stood up confidently, but a panicked voice suddenly interrupted him.
- "Mr. Barlow, something's wrong! Madam Hoffman is convulsing!"
- Gavin looked down.
- In just a few seconds, Regina's convulsions had escalated to an extreme level.
- "D*mn it, something's not right.
- "Initiate the emergency procedures, quick!"
- The three apprentices rushed forward, hurriedly applying needles to Regina's body.
- "Mr. Barlow, the silver needles aren't stopping the convulsions!"
- "Mr. Barlow, acupressure is failing!"
- "Administer the sedative, now!"
- At this moment, no one cared whether it was modern or traditional medicine; all that mattered was finding an effective solution.
- As the four of them scrambled in a panic ...
- Bang!
- The door burst open.
- "What are you doing? Stop right now!"
- Mona's eyes turned red as she saw Regina shaking uncontrollably.
- Gavin didn't even look back and instead ordered Brian.
- "Mr. Middleton, keep her away from us.
- "We're in a critical stage of the rescue, and we can't be interrupted."
- "Alright, leave it to me."
- Brian quickly ran toward Mona.
- "Guards, notify Mr. Glisson immediately.
- "Everyone else, restrain them!"
- With Mona's command, the bodyguards split into two teams.
- Before Brian could act, he and the others were already restrained.
- "Mona, let me go.
- "This is a crime! This is murder!
- "If Grandma dies because of you, you'll be the family's greatest sinner."
- Brian shouted in anger, but Mona slapped him across the face.
- "Shut up!
- "That slap was for your ignorance and stupidity.
- "Take him away!"
- Brian was dragged out by the bodyguards.
- Gavin, still struggling, shouted again.
- "Let me go! Madam Hoffman will die without my treatments.
- "That man is a fraud; he doesn't know how to heal."
- "I think you're the fraud!"
- Tyler entered the room like a gust of wind.
- Without saying a word, Tyler stepped up to the bed and quickly pressed several points on Regina's body.
- He then rapidly removed the needles Gavin had inserted and replaced them with his own.
- This time, however, instead of using eighteen needles, he used thirty-six.
- Watching Tyler's hands move with incredible speed, Gavin was stunned, but he still didn't forget to stop him.
- "Stop! You must stop!
- "The 'Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles' can't save her. It'll only drain what's left of her life force.
- "You're killing her!"
- Tyler didn't even look back.
- "Make him shut up. I'll have questions for him in a moment."
- Once the needles were in place, Regina's convulsions stopped, and her breathing returned to normal.
- "Phew ... "
- Tyler let out a sigh of relief and walked straight up to Gavin.
- "You know the Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles?"
- "Of course, I know it. It was the signature technique of a famous medical sage from the Valorian Kingdom.
- "But the authentic version has been lost for centuries. What you're using is a counterfeit meant to harm people!"
- Gavin spoke with confidence, but Tyler fired back with anger.
- "You quack! How can you be so ignorant?"
- Gavin was enraged.
- "I've saved over 30 thousand lives in my career. I've never been ashamed before my ancestors or the heavens.
- "Take back that 'quack' insult!"
- Tyler let out a mocking laugh.
- "You don't like being called a quack?
- "I clearly used 19 needles on Madam Hoffman, yet you claim it's the Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles.
- "If you don't even understand basic acupuncture, what else could you be but a quack?"
- Gavin was dumbfounded.
- "Impossible!
- "I clearly saw you use eighteen needles on Madam Hoffman, with the exact same points as recorded in ancient texts. Don't try to deceive me!"
- Tyler pursed his lips and scolded, "Ignorant! Foolish! Stupid!
- "The Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles is a highly aggressive technique, and any competent traditional medicine practitioner knows it can't be used on someone like Madam Hoffman.
- "I used an additional fine needle at the top of her head, where the skull meets, to regulate the excessive energy from the eighteen needles, allowing it to gradually flow into her body.
- "With the addition of herbal medicine to nourish her organs, she'll regain consciousness within half an hour and fully recover within a week."
- Gavin stood there dumbfounded by the explanation.
- Had he hidden a nineteenth needle?
- Could the Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles be used like that?
- Was I the true fool here?
- Breaking free from the bodyguards, Gavin inspected Regina's head and indeed found a needle hidden by her hair.
- Returning to the outer room ...
- Thud!
- He knelt before Tyler.
- "I was blind and foolish to have offended a true master. Please forgive me!"
- That kneel and apology left his three apprentices in complete shock.
- "Mr. Barlow, get up! You're the greatest divine doctor in all of Wyvernia. He's not worth you kneeling!"
