Chapter 6 Apprentices
- "Exactly, Mr. Barlow, he just got lucky. One case doesn't prove his medical skills."
- "Mr. Barlow, please get up."
- The three apprentices rushed forward to help Gavin up, only to be met with a furious outburst.
- "Shut up!
- "You three blind fools! You can't even tell a true master from a fraud, and you're unworthy of being my students.
- "If any of you try to stop me again, I'll expel you immediately."
- The apprentices fell silent. They had never seen Gavin this angry before and could only retreat in frustration.
- Just as Gavin was about to speak, Tyler pulled him up forcefully.
- "At your age, bowing before me might bring bad luck. You wouldn't want to tempt fate, would you?"
- "Uh ... "
- Gavin was stunned.
- In traditional medicine, respect for a true master transcends age. Age means nothing compared to skill.
- Many great masters long for the respect of others, yet Tyler seemed completely indifferent to such honors.
- Gavin opened his mouth, his eyes filled with hope as he stared at Tyler.
- "Dr. Glisson, your mastery of the Eighteen Tiger Gate Needles is unparalleled. I'd like to become your apprentice. Would you be willing to take me as your student?"
- Boom!
- The entire room was left stunned.
- What? A renowned master of traditional medicine, not only kneeling to apologize but also asking to become someone else's apprentice, huh?
- If word of this got out ...
- Where would his reputation go?
- How could he face the world?
- Yet Tyler, like an outsider, was completely unmoved by this display of vanity.
- His refusal was even colder than before.
- "I have no intention of taking on apprentices. Let that idea go."
- But Gavin was more stubborn than anyone Tyler had encountered.
- He wasn't someone who could be brushed off with just a few words.
- "I know I'm not talented enough to catch Dr. Glisson's eye, but I won't give up."
- Tyler was left speechless.
- "Let me be clear again: I have no plans to take on an apprentice. Don't waste your time."
- To escape the Gavin's persistence, Tyler turned to Mona.
- "I'm going to the pharmacy to prepare some medicine.
- "If you can't keep watch over Madam Hoffman, then you'll have to watch her die."
- Mona's body trembled, her eyes filled with determination.
- "Don't worry, I won't leave her side this time.
- "Even if the sky falls, I'll be right here."
- Tyler nodded and headed to the pharmacy.
- ...
- Half an hour later, Tyler returned with the prepared herbal medicine.
- As Regina drank the soup, the effects of the acupuncture became evident.
- Her complexion visibly brightened.
- Within a minute, an excited shout broke the silence in the room.
- "She's awake! Madam Hoffman is awake!"
- Brian's excited voice caused everyone to rush into the room.
- The modern medicine doctors quickly activated various machines to check her condition.
- "Gosh, her vital signs are almost at normal levels. This is incredible!"
- "Who would've believed that just half an hour ago she was at death's door? Traditional medicine is truly amazing."
- "It's not just traditional medicine; it's Tyler. He's worked a medical miracle!"
- Whether they were practitioners of modern or traditional medicine, no matter how much they had disliked Tyler before, everyone admired him at that moment.
- "Now that Madam Hoffman has woken up, I'll take my leave.
- "She just needs to follow the prescribed treatment for the next half month, and she'll be fully recovered."
- With the situation resolved, Tyler was ready to leave.
- Mona quickly stepped forward.
- "Mr. Glisson, let me see you out."
- At the door, she handed him a wooden box.
- "This is the Silverfin Herb my father asked me to give you."
- Tyler took a look at the herb. He confirmed it was what he needed, and prepared to leave.
- "Mr. Glisson, wait a moment."
- Mona, usually so cold, now had a faint blush on her face.
- "I promised that if you saved my grandmother, I'd be your wife. That promise still stands."
- Tyler raised an eyebrow, giving the stunning beauty a once-over before rejecting her once again.
- "Sorry, I just got divorced. I'm not ready to remarry."
- With that, he hailed a taxi and left, leaving Mona stomping her feet in frustration.
- "Tyler!
- "You're the first man to ever reject me. I won't let you get away with this!"
- When Tyler returned to the small house he had shared with Clarissa, he prepared to pack up some personal belongings.
- As he opened the door, a frying pan came hurtling toward him.
- Bang!
- Tyler punched the pan, sending it flying into the crystal chandelier in the living room.
- Crash!
- The chandelier, worth tens of thousands, shattered into pieces.
- "You useless fool, are you courting death?
- "How dare you come into my house to steal and even destroy my chandelier? Who gave you the guts?
- "I'm telling you, you won't leave here peacefully without giving me a million dollars today!"
- Willa's sharp voice made Tyler's head throb.
- She truly was the most shameless of the Prestons, with a fighting spirit like no other.
- With a stern face, Tyler responded, "Even though I've signed the divorce papers, I still have the right to collect my personal belongings."
