Chapter 6
- Alexa's Point Of View
- "Where is your alpha being punished?" I asked Riaz as we made our way outside.
- "He's in the underground torture room." His face lit up. "Do you want me to take you there?"
- I scrunched up my nose in displeasure. "No."
- I only asked so I could avoid treading wherever he is.
- "Why?" He asked and I shrugged.
- "Alpha brought you here from Raven Pack. That means you must be very important to him."
- I scoffed. "Not really."
- "Seriously. I've never seen him with any woman since I met him. He's never warm towards anyone. Not even his mother."
- I hummed uninterestedly.
- "You've not eaten anything since you arrived," Riaz said and I shook my head.
- "I'm fine. I'm not hungry. You can leave me here."
- "But can you find your way? The palace is very vast."
- I patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm fine," I told him smilingly and he blushed.
- "O.. okay."
- He waved me goodbye and jogged off. The moment he was out of sight, I took the opposite direction out. While that creature was bringing me here, I noticed some people coming out from the palace from the back of the palace. I reached the back but there was no door. There were just walls. Then how did they exit? I began touching the walls to feel for any secret opening but I felt nothing.
- In frustration, I left the back and took the main entrance at the front. I climbed down the stairs and proceeded forward. There was no way I could escape without being seen. I was in the open. Guards were passing everywhere. I took a right turn and kept walking until I appeared in a huge garden.
- As I walked forward, my eyes caught two figures ahead. I recognized the female to be Xena but I had no idea who the male was. They appeared to be talking secretly. I hid behind a tree to avoid being seen by them. The expression on Xena's face told me that they weren't having a nice conversation. What could they be talking about?
- Their conversation ended and Xena was the first to leave. I kept my eyes on the man for a while before I got distracted by a lizard at my feet. When I raised my head back up, he was no longer there.
- "Where is he?" I asked myself, my eyes searching for him.
- "Who?" I jumped at the sound of that voice. I turned abruptly only to meet that creature standing behind me.
- "What the...what are you doing here?" I snapped, pushing him away from me. He folded his arms, making his arm muscles flex. I tore my eyes away from him, trying not to be distracted by his biceps.
- "I should be asking you that question. You're the one acting suspicious," he retorted. I looked behind me to see if the man was back but he wasn't. That was pretty suspicious, should I tell him?
- No.
- It's not my business.
- I'm leaving here soon anyway.
- I cleared my throat and scooted backward. "Nothing, I will be going now," I said with finality and turned to leave but he pulled me back.
- I felt my skin crawl as I felt his cold touch on my arm. "Don't touch me," I spat and snapped my hands off his.
- "Does my touch irritate you that much?"
- "It does more than you think," I told him, rubbing his touch off my skin.
- He hummed and I glared at him. His silver eyes flickered in amusement as they took me in.
- "You've changed your dress."
- "Should I thank you for noticing?" I asked with a sarcastic smile.
- "Have you eaten? If you haven't, let me take you to eat,"
- "No, thank you. I'm fine. I'm not hungry."
- As if mocking me, my stomach chose to let out an embarrassing rumble at this moment. The corner of his lips twitched and my face grew red. I prayed inwardly for him not to laugh.
- "Th...that was thunder," I tried defending myself but it was too late. His cocked eyebrows were enough to tell me he wasn't buying it.
- "Ah," he drawled, "I see."
- "S...Seriously!"
- "Okay, okay. You don't need to get so embarrassed."
- "Embarrassed? Why would I be? I'm not embarrassed at all,"
- "Alright, alright,"
- This guy. He's mocking me!
- I hissed at him and stumped away in embarrassment.
- "Wait up!" He yelled after me and I increased my steps. Gosh, I can't believe I embarrassed myself in front of a vampire.
- It wasn't long before he caught up with me. He took my hand and I snapped at him.
- "I told you to stop touching me!" I fired, breathing heavily in anger. He paused and gazed upon my face for a while before letting go of my hand slowly.
- I turned away and walked away. I thought he was gone until I felt his pull on my hand again.
- "I told you not to-"
- "Don't snap at me. You told me not to touch you." He said. "I'm not touching you."
- I looked down at my hand and found that he was holding the hem of my sleeve. I looked up at his face and he pulled me closer.
- "Can we go and eat now?"
- Without hearing my reply, he pulled me along with him to heaven knows where.
- We left the palace and mixed with the people. Children were running around with kites, giggling happily under the afternoon sun. They looked so happy that it reenacted a memory from my childhood.
- Lyell and I. Running around the pack market with kites. He would always wear a mask so he wouldn't be recognized. He was always locked up in the palace so he would always sneak out to play with me.
- "Alexa."
- "Hm?" I replied as I got pulled out of my thoughts.
- "I've been calling your name for a while. Are you okay?" He asked worriedly and I nodded.
- "You said we were going to eat. I don't see any food in front of me."
- He shook his head. "I thought you said you weren't hungry."
- I rolled my eyes and he chuckled. I looked away from him and gazed forward. My legs almost failed me when I saw someone unexpected.
- It was Master Raga.
- What was he doing here?
