Chapter 6 Six

  • Alessia was unable to find Grace when she arrived at the club after escaping from Marco's suite.
  • Knowing that Simone might be out there searching for her, she opted to head to the only place where the less privileged would always be accepted; Santa Maria Cattolica.
  • The lord was always said to never forsake anyone, so she hoped he would never forsake her in this time of trouble.
  • When she arrived at the entrance of the huge building, she breathed in and out before stepping in.
  • There were workers already cleaning the sanctuary.
  • A sister was standing not so far from the main gates as she spoke to someone.
  • She knew the workers were giving her the side-eye as she passed. She could totally tell what they were thinking. In her black top and red shorts, Even the Lord wouldn't crack a smile at the outfit.
  • Thankfully, the sister didn't ask her to leave when their eyes met.
  • She just dismissed the man she was talking to, then turned to Alessia with a small smile.
  • "Hello, ma'am." Alessia hurriedly greeted as she wiped her sweaty palm on her shorts.
  • "Bless you, My Child." The sister replied.
  • Alessia returned the smile with her charming ones as she tried to find the next words to say to her.
  • "Is something wrong?" The sister asked even before she could say a word.
  • Alessia nodded fervently and before she knew it, bursted into Tears.
  • "Ma'am, I need help." She blurted out.
  • The sister frowned upon seeing the tears that wouldn't stop falling from her eyes.
  • "What's wrong, my child? Did you encounter something bad?"
  • "Yes, I encountered a lot of things and I'm currently homeless." She sniffed and went ahead to narrate the entire story to the sister.
  • She told her about how her uncle almost had his way with her, how she ran to the club to find her best friend, and how she ended up getting drunk and eventually losing her virginity.
  • When she summarized her story, the sister was in shock.
  • The part of her uncle almost raping her made her mutter a few words of prayer.
  • "Oh my world, you've been through a lot, my dear." The Sister sympathized with her. "This is the house of the lord and anyone is welcome here. I will take you to my quarters so you can have a comforting bath, then a change of clothes. Afterward, you'll come back to the cathedral to ask for forgiveness of all sins you've committed," She was also referring to the part where Alessia had the one-night stand with the stranger.
  • Alessia nodded and smiled through her tears, "Thank you so much ma'am, I really appreciate it."
  • The Sister said nothing more and gestured towards the exit.
  • She took her directly to her quarters as she said and brought her new set of clothes, also showing her to the bathroom where she had a bath.
  • When Alessia was done freshening up, she stepped into the living room to see she was alone.
  • She checked every corner of the house, searching for The Sister, but she was nowhere in sight.
  • "Where did she go off to?" She muttered, walking back to the living room.
  • She saw a mirror hanging on the wall and walked forward to take a proper look at the white dress The Sister had given to her.
  • It was a bit bigger than her tiny frame, but she had no choice but to wear the dress.
  • "Maybe I should head back to the cathedral, she might be there." She murmured and walked towards the exit, leaving the little house that was just opposite from the church.
  • She walked out of the environment and straight to the roadside, aiming to cross the road to the other side.
  • She didn't notice the black van parked a few meters away from the cathedral.
  • Alessia crossed the road immediately, but at the same time, the Van drove towards her.
  • There were people around the area also, but no one noticed the Van was coming for her.
  • Just when she strolled casually towards the gates, the Van pulled up before the cathedral and two guards stepped out quickly from the back.
  • An ear-piercing scream left Alessia's lips as they covered her face with a black cloth and lifted her off the ground, bringing her into the awaiting Van.
  • Once they had successfully placed her into the Van, the Van sped off from the premises.
  • In the Van, she struggled endlessly, trying to get the cloth off her face.
  • "Let go of me!" She yelled again, trying to get her hands off the tight grip of whoever was holding her down.
  • "Damn, this one's a fighter. Where did Marco get her from?" She heard one of them complain.
  • Suddenly, two hands held her back, pinning her down on the seat and disabling her by tying both of her hands.
  • Hot tears welled up in her eyes when she figured out she had been kidnapped.
  • She didn't know anyone shady, and Simone was broke, and couldn't afford pros like these.
  • Remembering Simone's friends, always smelling funky, all broke and gambling, not working. She was sure Simone couldn't pull this off.
  • Unless...
  • 'No, no, no! Zio couldn't have sold me off!' she said to herself as her tears fell endlessly.
  • Her struggles also reduced as she felt strength leaving her gradually.
  • Simone wouldn't have sold her off to loan sharks, he wouldn't have!
  • That would be disastrous for her if it were true.
  • She was in for a more bitter life than the one she was already living.
  • The guards in the car sighed in relief when they saw she wasn't struggling anymore.
  • They even heard sniffles and also saw her body shaking from time to time as she cried.
  • Selena who sat quietly in the front seat turned to glance at Alessia, then turned her gaze back to the road.
  • "Knock her out."
  • She ordered.
  • Alessia and the guards looked up at once.
  • She looked up, but couldn't see anything.
  • Fear gripped her on hearing the orders from Selena.
  • She knew a lot of knockouts, which one of them did the woman mean for?
  • "But boss, what about…"
  • "I said, Knock.Her.Out." She gave the guard no chance to speak and he hummed in response.
  • "Please! Please don't knock me out!" Alessia began to beg, trying to fight them again, but Marco's men weren't ones to be messed with.
  • One of them went around to grab her, despite her struggles, she was still no match for him.
  • He hit the side of her neck softly and she instantly went limp in his arms.
  • *******
  • An hour later,
  • Her eyes fluttered open again, this time, she squinted her eyes, taking in the sight before her.
  • The pains from the side of her neck remind her of what exactly happened earlier.
  • Yes, she has been kidnapped, but unlike the ones in the movie where she would be tied to a chair and kept in the middle of a dark room, she was placed on a white soft bed, in a room that screamed of luxury.
  • "What in God's name is going on?"
  • She asked herself, also looking down to make sure her clothes were in check.
  • Thankfully, she still had her white dress from earlier, the one given to her by The sister.
  • "Phew!" She let out a relieved sigh. "I don't know where this is, but I have to leave before whoever left me here returns." She added and slowly crawled out of the bed.
  • She climbed down and looked around for any security cameras that might have been placed by whoever left her here.
  • Yes, the people of Reggio Calabria were psychos and would do anything.
  • Including leaving a security camera in the bathroom!
  • She tiptoed towards the door when she was sure there wasn't any camera in the room.
  • But just when she reached the door and reached out to grab the door handle, the handle twisted before she could reach it, and then the door burst open.
  • The person who walked into the room was someone whom she never thought she would ever come across in her entire life again.
  • "Surprise."
