Chapter 55 Thoughts Like A Hurricane

• Derek’s POV.
• I leave Lisa’s house as early as 6:00 AM because I know that she would not be comfortable seeing me there in the morning. I felt like she would need her space and I was determined to give it to her. I feel really terrible about what happened with her mom. Her mom has not been the best of people, but nobody is perfect. I got home around 7:00 AM. Took my bath, put on a nice pair of trousers with a blue shirt and paired it off with a pair of glasses. I made myself a cup of coffee and headed to the office. I haven’t really been in the frame of mind to do a lot of work. A lot of things have been happening at the company. And I have been at the backend of it all I just focus on my work because I would rather not get involved with anybody’s personal business. And now that this has happened to Lisa, can’t help but feel the need to be there for her constantly. I don’t know how she would feel about that. But I would be really like to be there for her right now because I wouldn’t even try to understand the kind of pain she is in. I am finding it hard to concentrate on the work before me. I find myself constantly thinking about Lisa and how she’s doing and what she’s doing and how she’s holding up. Or if I can’t reach out to her, then what should I do?. Send her some flowers or send some breakfast. I check the time, It’s almost 9:00 AM. I still feel like it’s a bit early to do any of those things, so I am left helpless and confused. I stopped this around my office. I take a bottle of water and a glass cup from my fridge and I take a swig. I decided to walk around the company to try to clear my head. I leave my office and walk down to Hannah’s office. If I can’t talk to Lisa then I should be able to talk to Hannah. I walk into Hannah’s office and sit down opposite her. She is working hard at her computer and she doesn’t even look up when I’m working. I had to clear my throat two times before she looked up at me in surprise. “I didn’t see you there. How are you?” She asks me. I look at her then hake my head. I’m alright. Just a little bit disturbed. Lisa called me yesterday. She sounded very worried. I got to get place and she said that her mum just up and left and after doing a bit of digging we found out that she went to India. For no reason. So I’m actually just really worried about her and I don’t know what to do. I can’t concentrate on anything else. Hannah sighs and looks at me. “Well, I’m sorry that this happened to her and I know that you guys are friends. But, you can’t you shouldn’t allow that disturb your work here. If you’re that worried, you should be go ahead and check up on her and see how she’s doing”. She said. “I know, but I’m also kind of worried that she would not want me to disturb her or anything”. I say. “What would you like me to do for you?” She asks me. “ don’t know. I’m just confused, and maybe I just need someone to talk to”. I say. “Alright”. She stands up from her seat and walks round the table to where I am. She takes my hand in her house and looks me in the eye and says. “If it’s bothers you that much, then you should just call her. If she doesn’t pick up then at least you tried”. “Alright, fine. I will give her a call”. That’s a good boy, she says. Well. I need to go back to work now, so I will check on you later”. I walk out of her office and went to mine. I dialed her number, after which it went to voicemail. I guess I wasn't expecting her to pick up because I couldn't bring myself to believe in message so I ended a call I sat down here in my chair and set it up today was not just a work day for me tried to head back home to rest or watching movie or something which won’t keep me worried about Lisa. I got home decided to make some breakfast for myself since I hadn't eaten anything this morning. I made some bacon and eggs and I sat down in front of my television scrolling throughout to find something interesting enough to watch to take my mind off things, I found a down on a show don't even want to show but I just mindlessly watch it so I decided to try Lisa's number again and thankfully this time she picked up. “how are you” I asked “I'm all right I have taken up till 5 cups of coffee this morning but I don't have a choice and I will have to come take this on an acceptance as what it is. My mom is a… I don't even know what to call her but she has decided to leave me just a few months after my dad did so yes I am all right because I don't have a choice but to be”. She sounded really really sad and I couldn't believe it because this is a horrible thing to go through. “would you mind if I send you some breakfast maybe that would cheer you up a little bit?”. “Oh I wouldn't mind that at all that is so sweet of you thank you really for all your help I appreciate it”. She said. “oh it's nothing it's totally my pleasure and I can come to me anytime you need anything I'm just at home right now because I haven't so worried about you and watching a movie I plan on just maybe working from home today answer the office or I couldn't be myself doing anything then so if you need to talk at any point in time today just give me a call”. I said. “I will thank you so much”. She said. “I Will leave you at home now so you coming go about your day your breakfast will be on the tree as soon as possible”. I said. “Alright, that’s fine. I place an order for her online, finish up my movie and breakfast and head straight to my bedroom to get some rest. The past two days have been a lot for me to handle.
