• Hannah's POV
• I was pacing up and down my living room, nursing a gin and tonic drink with lime in hand. Anger was coursing through my veins and all I could see was red. Who the hell did that Lisa Mendez think she was? What makes her think she could just waltz in and out of our lives as she liked? I took a sip of my drink, the heat flooded my chest but I was too much in a rage to be bothered about it. How could Derek do this to me? He knows how much I dislike that girl and not only that, she now has such a huge stake in my company?!. Heaven knows why she's back this time. It's to take back John, he always has such a soft spot for her and honestly, I'm afraid that she's going to trigger his feelings for her again. After all these years? Why now?. I haven't even begun to make headway with him and now this bitch is back?. I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't hear the door open and close behind me. A hand touched my shoulder and I was jolted from my musings, I turned around sharply only to see that it was Elizabeth, I guess she could see the panic on my face because she put up her arms in the air in a bid to get me to calm down, "I had been knocking on the door for the past couple of minutes when I heard no answer, I tried the handle and saw it was unlocked", I sighed and smiled apologetically, "It's alright, I was just so lost in my thoughts that I couldn't hear anything", "that bad, huh?", she said, "you have no idea", I replied. She was still in her outfit of black trousers with a silk black shirt tucked into it, her hair was wrapped in a bun and she was barefoot. I gave her a slight hug and gestured her towards the couch" What would you like to drink?", I asked. "Just water would be fine, I'm a bit parched". She replied. I went towards the kitchen and retrieved a bottle of water for her " Thanks", she said." So, I noticed during the board meeting that you didn't look too happy when your dad announced Lisa as our new investor, I hope you know that's a good thing, right?". I took another swig of my drink " I know it's a good thing". I said. " Then what's the problem?", she asked. "I just don't feel comfortable with Lisa having such a huge stake in the company". I said. She looked at me knowingly, "Are you sure that's the reason?". I rolled my eyes, "Also the fact that she might have come back for John", a wide grin spread across her face, and I rolled my eyes harder. "Well, that wasn't so hard, was it?". "Well, I know for a fact that she and John can never have anything to do with each other", she continued. "How do you know that?". I asked. "I just know it", she replied. I sighed deeply and decided to have a little faith. She dropped her bottle of water on the coffee table, beside my empty glass.
• "Can I ask a question?". She asked, "Go ahead". I said." Well, this is gonna come out weird, but have you guys.. hmm.. well.. done the deed? ". She stammered, looking very uncomfortable." Are you asking if John and I have had sex? ". Well, yes", she said, smiling sheepishly." Well, I wonder how I am supposed to have sex with a person that doesn't even look in my direction, he doesn't even want to talk to me, every word I say is met with hostility, the moment I walk into a room, he takes the next exit out, even after the attempt on his life, he doesn't even allow me to tend to his injuries, the only conversation we have are work-related and now this Lisa is back and I just feel like she'd take my husband with her the next time she's leaving and there'd be absolutely nothing I can do about it", I was fighting back tears by the time I was done. Elizabeth hugged me and I broke down, sobs wracking my body in waves, tears and snot staining her shirt, my heart felt like it was about to shatter into a million pieces. She tapped my back in a bid to calm me down. Eventually, the sobs reduced and I tried to return myself to a state of normalcy. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for all that to happen", she shook her head." I should be the one apologizing, I shouldn't have brought that up at all, although now that i think about it, we need to do something to get your husband into your bed as soon as possible, he needs to have eyes for you and you alone". "You'd help me do that?". I looked at her with tear filled eyes, as hope flooded through me. "Yes, I will, you're my favourite sister-in-law". I chuckled and said "I'm your only sister-in-law". She made a face at me and I laughed." That's more like it", she said, smiling. " So, what do you have in mind?". " Okay, so, what do you know he likes?". I frowned slightly in thought, " I don't know, we're so distant that I barely know anything about him", I said "well, think, there has to be things that he likes, things you've noticed, habits, that sort of thing", " Well, he has his coffee, black immediately he wakes up in the morning, he's the one that makes it", " well, then, you make it for him" she said " what?", I said " You make his coffee for him", she repeated, " what else?", " Well, he eats breakfast in his study and doesn't come outside until he's done", I said, " then you join him in his study",She said." But that's like impossible, he locks himself inside", " You just have to do anything and everything to be in face, in his space, enter his room and spray your perfume on his pillow, in his wardrobe, spray it in places that he knows he cannot avoid, let him wonder why he smells you everywhere, make sure you're always in something seductive, your hair should always be down,your skin oily and glistening, always speak softly to him, make sure to make contact with him, no matter how little, his collar when he is dressing up in the morning, helping him with his tie, his jacket when he comes back in the evening, obviously, he wouldn't come around immediately, but you need to be consistent. You need to get inside his head and under his skin, that's the only way to go about this. You'll need to get some new lingerie and nightgowns". I mulled over all this, " are you sure about this?" I asked. "Well, you wouldn't want to lose your man to another woman, would you? "No", I replied.
