Chapter 8 A Day of Blooming Flowers

  • Sebastian’s fingertip unexpectedly twitched. At the same moment, he felt a sudden flutter in his heart.
  • He walked inside with his fingers slightly curled.
  • Soon, he saw the suitcase near the entrance.
  • It was a small single black suitcase.
  • It seemed like she was going on a short business trip for one or two days and would be back soon.
  • “You have probably seen the divorce agreement. I had let Taylor print it out, it’s the same as what I sent you in the email.”
  • “Check it out. Let’s head to the Civil Affairs Department if everything is fine.”
  • Natalie handed over the document to Sebastian calmly. She had prepared it earlier.
  • Sebastian looked at the document. All he saw was a divorce agreement printed on white paper. He lifted his hand and opened the divorce agreement.
  • Natalie watched him go through the somehow thin document. He moved his fingertip to flip the document, just as he did with any sort of document, without any sort of emotion. Well, I don’t regret marrying him, nor falling in love with him. Even though I didn’t expect us to end up like this. I have no regrets in these three years.
  • “I’ve signed the document. Sign it if you’re okay with it,” Natalie said while offering him a pen when Sebastian reached the last page.
  • She had even prepared the pen, just like his assistant. She had everything well-prepared, he wouldn’t have to worry about anything.
  • Sebastian looked at the pen and eventually fixed his gaze on Natalie’s face.
  • He had maintained a calm smile as he stepped out of the car. It was soft and gentle.
  • Just like what Natalie said, it would be better for both of them to end their marriage.
  • Sebastian stared at her gentle eyebrows. They were calm and soft. He took the pen and signed his name on the blank space with a precise stroke.
  • Natalie smiled.
  • Everything worked like a charm. Natalie brought her luggage and got in the car with Sebastian to settle everything at once.
  • They headed to the Civil Affairs Department and completed the divorce formalities.
  • It didn’t take long, just as Taylor said. Before the personnel went on break, Natalie had already received the divorce certificate.
  • A car was stopped outside the Civil Affairs Department, with the driver getting out to open the door.
  • “Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride,” Sebastian said to Natalie with the luggage before getting into the car.
  • He seemed to ask out of politeness and wasn’t really willing to help her.
  • Natalie shook her head and said, “It’s fine. Go ahead with your work.”
  • Sebastian was a busy person, Natalie knew it well.
  • “Alright.”
  • “Call me if you need anything,” Sebastian said while getting into the car without any hesitation, just like on his usual business trips.
  • He acted like he would return.
  • Soon, the car started and got into the traffic.
  • In the car, Sebastian watched Natalie through the rearview mirror. She stood calmly, bathed in sunlight. Each strand of her hair was warmed by the sun.
  • “Beep beep…”
  • Sebastian’s attention was drawn back by his phone ringing. He answered, ‘Hello.’
  • “Mr. Sebastian, something seems off with the project in Elveron. You might need to be there personally.”
  • “Book a flight.”
  • “Alright.”
  • Natalie pondered as the car drove away.
  • She stopped looking at the car and turned her gaze upward to the perfect sunlight, with a light scent of flowers.
  • She raised her hand and squinted at the sunlight through her fingers..
  • It made her feel somehow better.
  • There was a gentle spring breeze with the blooming flowers that day.
  • Sebastian, I wish you happiness always. Well, I hope I’ll be happy too.
