Chapter 7 He’s Back
- In March, the environment became lush. After February, the cold had completely disappeared. The trees on the streets began to bud with a green vibrant.
- The flowers and plants in the villa were also flourishing in the spring.
- Natalie had resigned from her job and finished her last day of work yesterday. She was waiting for Sebastian to return so they could sign the divorce agreement at the Civil Affairs Department to end their three-year marriage.
- Yesterday, she received a phone call from Wilson, who said that Sebastian would be back early this morning.
- Sebastian had been away on business for over half a month.
- But this wasn’t something new for Natalie. She was used to it by now, as sometimes his business trips lasted even for several months.
- Sebastian had probably seen the divorce agreement from Natalie through email. And Natalie had also prepared a physical copy of the agreement as well. She had signed it, just waiting for Sebastian to sign upon his return.
- She had prepared everything perfectly.
- “Mrs. Levine, Mr. Sebastian has arrived at the airport. He should be home in about an hour.”
- Wilson called while Natalie was watering the flowers, with the bustling noise of the airport in the background.
- “Alright.”
- Natalie hung up the phone and followed each step meticulously. She watered the plants, trimmed the excess branches, loosened the soil, and added fertilizer.
- Once everything was done, she went upstairs to bring down her luggage.
- Natalie had packed up her luggage yesterday. She planned to go to the airport after Sebastian signed the divorce agreement and they obtained the divorce certificate. She wanted to return home.
- Screech…
- The car smoothly stopped at the villa’s entrance. It was exactly ten o’clock.
- Natalie looked out as she heard the sound. She told the person on the phone, “He’s back. Talk to you later.”
- “He’s back?”
- “Sebastian is finally back? Hurry up and go to the Civil Affairs Department now! It’s exactly ten, and they’re still open! Quickly divorce him and move on to the next one!”
- Indeed, it was Taylor who had been drafting the divorce agreement for Natalie over the phone.
- Taylor had found some potential matches for Natalie over the past half month. She was urging Natalie to get divorced and start a new relationship soon.
- Natalie sighed and said, “Talk to you later. Bye.” Then, she hung up the phone and stared at the person who got out of the car.
- The winter’s desolation had passed, and spring took over with vibrant green. It was amazing.
- The golden flowers in the villa were in full bloom and brightened the whole villa, which was among the mountains.
- It also shed light on the person who was getting out of the car. He was in a white shirt and black trousers with a straight posture. He stepped out of the car with his suit jacket over his arm, as if he had just walked out of a painting.
- His sculpted face no longer seemed so indifferent as the gentle spring breeze brushed his face with a scent of floral.
- Natalie frowned with a slight smile. She stood still, waiting for him to come over, instead of walking toward him like she usually did. This was the first time she was waiting for him.
- Sebastian stood still and looked at the person inside, who was inside the living room with a plain sweater and a blue skirt.
- Natalie has long hair hung straight down and tucked behind her ears. Besides her, it was the same furnishings as three years ago.
- However, there was a half-height vase with an orchid planted inside near the spiral staircase behind her.
- The orchid’s delicate leaves hung gracefully with upright stems, and its buds bloomed slowly as spring was around the corner.
- Natalie looked at him gently with a faint smile.
