Chapter 8 Dates To Make A Girl Feel Better
- “Smile for us Layla, you're not fighting with us are ya?”
- The camera crew teased, all chuckling at the lead’s joke, forcing Layla to put a smile up and show off more seductive poses. They were taking nude pictures for her in preparation for the next video they were supposed to shoot.
- “Are we done?” She was getting tired from all the flashes and when they gave her a thumbs up, her shoulders slumped and she went to the nearest chair. She was exhausted. More mentally than physically but exhausted is exhausted.
- She was drastically praying for it to be Friday, she wouldn't have to work until Tuesday and it gave her enough time to go biking around the city. One of her favorite activities.
- The servers offered her a glass of water and some treats to keep her mouth busy. She did not hesitate to dive into it and just as she was getting lost in thought, Katrina walked up to her set with a small whip in her hand.
- “My my you look so nice in this position, spread your legs a little more.” She gently threw the whip against Layla's skin, teasing her with a small laugh.
- “Wait till Jay hears about how you're harassing me.” It didn't bother her to report to a higher authority and it resulted in Katrina rolling her eyes before using the whip to hit her boobs, “Kat stop!” Layla folded her arms round her chest protectively.
- Another giggle erupted from her coworker, Layla snorted at Kat, she was just trying to get her upset.
- “What's the matter with you?” She took a seat beside her, slinging the whip across her shoulder.
- “I'm just really tired.” She admitted after releasing a huge breath from her lungs, “I need a vacation.”
- “You just started work not up to a month ago.” Kat noted and it only made Layla deflate even more, “but maybe I have something that can help.” Her gaze turned away just as Layla turned to her.
- “And what is that?” Her eyebrows were raised to the roof, she didn't trust Katrina, always pulling tricks from nowhere.
- “There's a new restaurant that opened, I thought we could check it out. Just the two of us.” Her puckered lips made her resemble the kissing with the smiling eyes emoji, giving her a comical feel.
- Layla was almost bought, “who's paying?” This question alone has divided and brought together many great nations, as much as she knew Kat would foot the bill she wanted to make sure as she would order a lot of food.
- “I am. So we have a date?” Her hands gently wrapped around Layla's cheeks, hypnotizing her.
- “We have a deal. And No funny business.”
- The date was exactly what Layla needed, the restaurant had everything she needed from full meals to sweet treats, she ordered quite a lot and left Katrina with a hole in her bank account and then they proceeded to go back to her abode.
- “Welcome to my house, please feel at home.” She welcomed her guest, walking ahead of her and into the kitchen. Layla was amazed by how everything was neatly arranged. The best part about the house was the cool LED lights that gave a feel of paradise on earth, giving multiple colors with different shapes.
- She walked through the door, her mouth agape, still taking everything in. Katrina's apartment was luxurious but in a simple way.
- “Do you wanna watch a movie?” She screamed from the kitchen.
- “Yes, horror please!” Layla responded, giggling afterwards, her legs took her to the corridor which had quite a number of paintings hanging on it. As she moved further, she saw something that caught her attention.
- A mask.
- She froze in her steps and examined the item carefully, she had seen this mask before. It took her a while before it hit her. It was the same mask her secret lover wore to conceal her identity.
- But wait.
- Was Katrina the Masked woman?
- “Layla movie is up!” She called from the living room and she left the mask alone. Katrina had changed to more comfortable clothes and was having a drink on her couch. Layla jumped on it, making a bit of the drink spill on her date, she threw an evil grin on her while Kat rolled her eyes to the moon and back.
- About 20 minutes into the movie, Katrina was shaking from fear, hiding under a blanket while Layla was casually laughing at how a victim was brutally cut into pieces and hung as a souvenir.
- “Do I need to increase the thermostat?”
- “You're a psycho.” She stared at her in disbelief before her date let out a cynical laugh.
- “It was that or being an adult entertainer, I believe I made the right choice. By the way, what made you get into the business?” She dipped her hand in her bowl of popcorn and it was empty.
- “It was a bet, my ex always body shamed me even after dropping 100 pounds, he believed that I wouldn't get a dollar if I started onlyfans.” She snorted, grabbing the empty bowl and heading to the kitchen, Layla followed her attentively, what an interesting story.
- “But is it what you want? There are a lot of actresses who don't want to do this, ya know?” She made a valid point.
- “Then they should quit. No one is forcing anyone, Reina is the most understanding boss I've ever worked for.” She put another bag in the microwave and poured herself another drink, “it was uncomfortable at first but it helped me become more confident in my body, as strange as it may sound.”
- Layla stood there, analyzing everything she had said. The industry got a bad rep, from people outside and those inside and she genuinely expected something horrible but being under Reina, she hadn't experienced anything negative yet. Well, she was just a month old.
- “I have another question.”
- “I'm listening.” She pulled the popcorn out of the microwave and poured it into the bowl.
- “Are you the Masked woman?”
