Chapter 1100

"Are you going to talk to me?" Alex asked after a few more seconds of silence. "You know that I can tell when something is bothering you." As she spoke, she gently stroked her twin's cheek and started to run her fingers through her dark hair.
"I'm sorry," Toni said after another few moments of silence. "I... just wanted to make sure that you're okay. You've spent each night with me since... the masquerade and I know that you were having weird feelings and whatnot. I... got scared and concerned. I didn't mean to freak out."
Alex's heart immediately melted, and she sighed deeply. Part of her was immediately upset at herself for being so insensitive to her twin, who was only concerned about her and not jealous like she'd assumed. The other was deeply touched by that fact and couldn't imagine loving someone more.
