In the back of her mind, though, she knew that she couldn't risk actually acting on her baser impulses with any of them. She definitely didn't want another "Brandon" situation.
She was getting ready for the evening rush when she was surprised to see that Zoey had finally texted her. She'd had been wondering about her friend and if she'd screwed up a relationship yet again. She'd almost reached out many times since the incident, but the last thing she wanted to do was to mess up and say the wrong thing. She liked Zoey and didn't want to lose her as a lover, or at the very least, a friend. She finally took a deep breath and pulled out her phone to check the message.
"I'm sorry about what my asshole ex-boyfriend did," the message began. "I don't want to lose you as a friend. Please message me back so that I know we're okay."
