Chapter 4
- LINDY
- Nothing important.
- Those words bothered me because in the back of my head, I felt something different from the way he said it. It felt like he was guarding something that he didn't want me to know.
- Nothing important.
- I groan inwardly and hated those words as it keeps entering my head. I have always trusted my gut feeling and my woman's instinct because for some reason, it is always goddamn right.
- I know there is something but at the same time I don't want to pursue the thought of it that Harry is potentially hiding something from me.
- I mean, what could he be hiding?
- I flinched as soon as I heard the doorbell just as I was lost in my own thoughts.
- I walked towards the bathroom door where Harry was taking a quick shower. I knocked and heard the water running, "Harry? Harry!"
- "Yeah?" He hollers back.
- "Did you call for any room service?"
- "No! Why?"
- I listen to the doorbell and it was gone, "Nothing!"
- "I'll be out in a jiffy."
- Just as I was about to walk back to the bed, there goes the doorbell again. There was a constant ring on the doorbell followed by a few knocks and it was already getting pretty annoying to hear. I didn't know who it was and neither of us were expecting to have visitors. I thought instantly that it was his fans who found his hotel room or it could probably be one of the paps. Probably from his team. He was still busy taking a shower so I decided to open it myself.
- As soon as I opened it, my eyes widened by the greeting, "Surprise!"
- It was Gemma.
- She quickly threw herself at me and hugged me tightly. "Ooh my gosh it's so good to see you again!" She says with a thicker British accent.
- "Hey Gemma! It's so good to see you again as well!" I greeted back.
- We pulled ourselves away as she smiles at me and I was then reminded of how amazing their genes are. Gemma was just as beautiful.
- "How have you been? Where's Harry? I texted him today. He didn't respond back. Did he tell you I texted him?" She talks fast, quite opposite to Harry.
- "So it was Gemma who texted him." I thought and felt relieved.
- Nothing important.
- I shake my head sideways and tried to dismiss that thought in my head.
- I smiled and wondered which one to answer since she has asked me questions after another. "I'm really doing great. Harry's still in the shower and I... didn't know you were here." I smiled.
- "And I'm pregnant." I thought.
- "Please, come in." I added.
- I walked her inside the room and led her to the couch where she sat down so poised. I didn't know what to offer her because, till this day I am still starstruck by her beauty. She pushes the escaping tendrils of her platinum blond hair behind her ears.
- "Wow! This room is amazing!" Her eyes around the room before she travelled them back at me. "And you look so lovely on your dress! C'mon sit down with me, I won't bite." She giggles.
- I scooted my way beside her and sat down where she wanted me to.As I sat next too her with close proximity, I can really tell the similarities that she shares with Harry. Gemma smelled an elegant scented perfume which really suited her a lot. She looked so stunning even if she's just wearing something simple.
- "We haven't talked that much since the movie premiere and the afterparty. I'm sorry for that." she started.
- "Oh. No, it's really okay. I was shy too."
- She chuckles. "Don't be shy talking to me. You can probably talk to me about anything. Has Harry been a good boy lately?"
- I smiled. "Yes. He's always great."
- "Good. You can always come to me when you need someone to talk to or if he's doing something stupid again. I'll hit him for you if you want to." She winks. "And by the way, my mom wants to meet you soooo badly."
- I blushed with that thought and it sent a sudden shiver all over my entire body.
- "I keep telling her about you and how Harry is so madly in love with you and she said she can't wait to finally meet you. Isn't that exciting?" She chimed.
- I smiled at myself and in the back of my head, I was unexceptionably nervous thinking and worrying about how the first meeting would happen. "It is." I agreed and smiled at Gemma. "It'll be wonderful and I'd be really honoured meeting Mrs. Anne."
- She smiles at me, "You know, of all the women that Harry dated, for some reason you're the one I really like the most. I'm comfortable being around you probably because you're not in the same industry as him."
- "Why not?" I asked.
- "It's just so trust to believe some models and other celebrities intentions and personalities to be honest. It feels like they always have to put on their game face on and they are so damn good at it that it makes me doubt a lot!"
- I chuckle on my seat as I stare at her. "It's really overwhelming to hear that coming from you."
- She rests her head over my shoulder and wraps her arms around me, "Oh come on! There's so much to love about you! You're the one who led that movement to stand up against bullies! I should be overwhelmed to be with you."
- I chuckle, "Oh my gosh, you're making me blush."
- She chuckles too as she pulls herself away from me, "Harry's actually lucky to have you to be honest. I mean for a man like him with a reputation? Oh good Lord. He is lucky."
- I shake my head, "I think I am lucky too."
- Gemma smiles at me and I like how she looks at me sweetly, "You both are lucky to have each other. You're not fake and you're honest. It's what Harry needs in his crazy world."
- I smile back at her, "Thank you. This means so much to me."
- "I'm just so inspired of you when I saw that interview you did back in the day and I admired you for that. You're such a strong woman." She tugs on hand.
- "Thanks a lot. It means so much to hear that coming from Harry's sister."
- She placed her arm on my shoulder, "It's not much. You changed Harry. You actually made him more mature."
- "It's funny how you say that when he is much older than me."
- "I can tell that you are a good influence to him. I'm not against you dating my brother. He's just changed since he met you and I'm extremely happy for him."
- I smiled at her and hearing that coming from Gemma just made me feel more loved and welcomed. She makes me feel as if I am really the best partner for her younger brother that she has met and I feel pressured of bieng careful not to disappoint her. At the same time, this overwhelming positive feeling of being accepted scares me as much becauseI don't want to ruin her trust on me.
- What if she'll know I'm pregnant?
- She will hate me for sure.
- I wanted to tell her because I begin to feel something heavy inside my chest and my mind is making me feel so much guilty. I hated this feeling so much. Gemma has been positive towards me and just complimented me for being honest but now I am actually not telling her the truth about my condition.
- "Gemma?"
- I quickly pulled my head up and found Harry standing in front of us. He was already dressed up so handsomely done and had his brows furrowed in the middle of his forehead. Gemma pulls herself from the couch and rushed to Harry, giving him an instant hug.
- Harry stares at me and I can tell that he is shock to see Gemma. "Why are you here?" He asked.
- "Don't be mean." She pulls herself away from him. "I texted you."
- "I didn't open your text intentionally because I didn't wanna get disturbed while I am with Lindy." He answers casually. "What brought you all the way here?"
- "Well, first of all why didn't you tell me you were coming here?" She asks nonchalantly.
- "It was suppose to be my short vacation together with Lindy." He answers.
- "You know I love Paris and I have always wanted to hang out with your girlfriend." She responded.
- I stare at Harry who is looking much disappointed to see her so I quickly pulled myself from the couch and said, "Gemma can join us."
- I smiled at Harry travelled his head back to me, "Are you serious?" He mouths.
- I nodded, "It's really fine. I don't mind at all. I mean, that'll be so much fun having another girl here."
- "See? She loves me." Gemma chimes and chuckles happily. "I know she loves me! Far better than any girl you have ever dated."
- Harry rolls his eyes. "I know that. You don't really have to say it, you know."
- She walks up to me and hooks her arm on my arm. "You have a lovely girlfriend, Harry. Don't mess it up again."
- Harry smiled at her and I can tell that he looks sarcastic. I know he is disappointed that we couldn't have our time together but we couldn't just push Gemma away. Not like this knowing that she came here looking so happy.
- Harry stated, "We were heading out for dinner, you could join us too Gem."
- "Yey! I'd love to!" She answers happily. "Should we do shopping together tomorrow, Lindy? You should see my favourite boutiques here! You will love it!" Gemma continues to say as she drags me out of the room.
- "S-Sure. I will." I kept glancing at Harry who is looking at with furrowed brows and a tightlipped smile. "But my flight back to Connecticut is tomorrow by eight in the evening so we'll have the entire day."
- "I love you for that." Gemma hugs me quickly.
- Harry quickly chases us and follows us from behind with that same look in his eyes. The three of us headed to the elevator and as soon as we reached the lobby, we were swarmed by the fans that waited for him. Paul and two other security were there as they lead us to the parking lot. We marched our way to Harry's car with the paps literally surrounding and chasing us.
- "I brought the other car with me." Gemma calls out. "So where you both heading for dinner?" She asks Harry.
- While the beaming flashing lights from the cameras were blinding me, Harry responds, "Reed."
- He opens the passenger door for me and I hopped in right away as I watch Gemma walk towards another sports car that looks insanely lavish.
- "See you both there!" Gemma steps inside her own car before waving.
- Harry closes the door as soon as he got inside. He ignored all the paps outside the car who were still busy taking pictures of us from outside. He wasn't even distracted with any of the paps or cameras flashing outside as he began to drive us to Reed.
- I have never heard of that place and I am already excited getting there. It already makes me wonder what foods they would have in there. I am already starving with the thought of foods in my head.
- "I warn you." Harry's voice caught my attention. "My sister can quickly sense that something is wrong. She has like a seventh sense or something."
- I chuckle as he smiles, finally.
- "But seriously, Gemma can notice things way easier than me and she has that ability where she can detect that someone's hiding." He adds. "I honestly don't know how she does that but it's really quite amusing. She uses her skill every time she meets a new girl I am dating."
- "You're saying?"
- "I am saying that she does this every single time, ambush thing, to study you. She can see through you and she's very persuasive so let's be careful."
- Careful. I know what he instantly meant by that and it makes me even much more nervous ow that this whole dinner is sort of a study for her to analyze me as Harry's girlfriend.
- It's understandable though that she protective of him but I can't help but worry for me. Most especially that II am carrying Harry's child so I don't know how I would be able to be careful in front of a woman who has actually a skill that can see through lies.
- I smiled. "I'm happy that she's here because I can get to know her better. I mean she's really cool and I wouldn't want to fake anything with her."
- He cocks his head to me. "She likes you. I could tell."
- That was another comforting thing.
- "And why do you think so?" I questioned. "You can see through the woman who can see through lies?"
- He chuckles under his throat, "Yes. I am her brother so I know her better than anyone else in this world."
- "So why you think she likes me?" I asked again.
- "Because she asked you to go shopping with her and she's so comfortable with you. Did you see the way she drags you around? She never did that to the other girls that I've dated." He answers.
- I smiled at him.
- "And I'm sure my mom will love you too." he added.
- "I hope."
- He kissed my hand an smiled at me. "She will."
- The moment we reached the restaurant, Gemma arrived the same time too. We hurriedly got to the table which Harry reserved for us and both of them were giving out their orders like a pro in saying all these names. I let them do it because the names were difficult to read and they know the foods around here better than I do.
- "Is there anything you want to eat Lindy?" Gemma turns her head to me.
- I smiled. "You guys pick the foods, I'll just eat anything."
- Harry stared at me eagerly. "Are you really sure you don't want to eat anything? Specifically?" He pouts, "Just anything."
- I am craving for dragon fruit, I thought.
- This is crazy because I am craving foods which I haven't really eaten before. To be honest, I don't want to act weird in front of Gemma. Shit, I wanna pee again and I no longer know how many times I have paid for this day alone. I've just did that ten minutes ago.
- I faked a smile. "Anything is fine with me."
- Harry kept his green eyes on me while Gemma reads through the menu seriously. He asks, "Lasagna?"
- I smile at him and Im glad that he remembered.
- "Oh I love lasagna." Gemma chimes happily. She pulls her head up. "Should we have lasagna too?"
- "I will eat anything you'll order." I answered her.
- Harry ordered most of the foods I liked and Gemma took care of the dessert as she claimed that she is expert in it that Harry has bad taste in. We started eating all of the mouthwatering foods placed before us. They ordered a lot of main dishes that were so good and I honestly didn't know where to start.
- "You know what, when Harry was growing up he'd use to wear our mother's bra and hang it on his chest." Gemma says with a grin plastered on her face.
- I choked while my eyes were locked to Harry who blushed in an instant as he continued. "You... Gemma, seriously at times like this?"
- I spurt out soft laughter as Gemma continues, "We actually thought he was gonna grow up gay."
- "Wow!" He exclaimed. "You really had to bring that up G."
- "And did you know--"
- "Okay that's enough did you knows!" Harry cuts her off.
- Gemma laughs and ignores Harry, "Did you know that Harry sleeps with a blanket he had since he was like so little and it would smell so freaking bad because he wouldn't wanna wash it!"
- Harry hides his face with his palms.
- "He cries when our mum washes it. He likes it dirty and smelly." Gemma continues and had spurts of laughter.
- Harry looked totally embarrassed with what Gemma just narrated and I think she's really doing it on purpose to embarrass him. I smiled at him while my hand was rubbing his thigh. I was trying not to laugh hard even though I wanted to but I was still laughing anyways.
- "Thanks Gemma." Harry said sarcastically.
- She laughed. "You're welcome, Harry. I'm just getting even on you for doing the same thing to me before. Remember?"
- He shakes his head and his cheeks blushed like a tomato. "Look I'm really sorry for doing that Gemma. Please stop it. You know too much." Harry rakes his fingers through his hair.
- He's so cute when he's embarrassed and I just sat on my seat smiling like an idiot.
- "You should've thought about that before. I have so many things to tell you Lindy that I don't even know where to start." Gemma winks at me.
- "Don't trust her." Harry mouthed to me as I smiled sheepishly.
- "Remember that time with Jolene?" Gemma hollers and as soon as she mentioned it, Harry's face instantly changed. When Gemma noticed him, she looked as if she just said something wrong.
- "Who's Jolene?" I asked as they stared at each other.
