Chapter 10

• The weeks go by and Cam, as promised, takes me home, to work and even to college. I've said no like a thousand times, but who says he cares what I say? He just makes me all embarrassed when he comes near me, or messes with my hair, or looks at me with that seductive gaze. Can I trust my boss? I just don't know, but I think he speaks the truth about wanting to protect me and take care of me, even if we have nothing, so I think. I hope he doesn't try anything, but I know he's serious about being into me, and he's not going to give up. He's not the kind of guy who gives up easily.
• I am getting ready to go to college. I was given an early release from work today, so I decided to stop by the house before class. I put on a basic dress, tights and braid my hair. I put on some perfume and low heels.
• I say goodbye to my parents and, as soon as I leave the house, I see Cam with his arms crossed, looking at me.
