Chapter 8 Cauldron
- When Rosie was about to go to the police station the next morning, Ian was still sleeping. She could not help but frown. In fact, she did not mind whether he was rich or poor or what his appearance was like. Most importantly, a man had to be ambitious. What could a man achieve if he slept all day? Even a genius would not accomplish much.
- Rosie walked up to Ian and kicked him lightly. Ian yawned and slowly opened his eyes. “Honey, you’re so early.”
- "It's almost eight o’clock,” Rosie answered.
- “Oh, really? Be careful at work. I’m going to sleep some more.” After saying that, Ian closed his eyes and returned to sleep again. In fact, his energy increased after sleeping. Although the process was slow, it was better than nothing.
- Nonetheless, Rosie was not aware of it. She only thought Ian was lazy. “Have you considered looking for a job?”
- “No, I don’t have time,” Ian murmured. He really did not have time to look for a job. Not only he had to sleep more to recover his energy, but he also had to think of a way to earn more money. He needed money to buy expensive medicinal herbs to treat Ivan’s weak body.
- Rosie was mad seeing Ian like that. She snorted. “Fine. You can do whatever you want.” She then stomped out of the room in her high heels. Ian disappointed her. The good impression she had of him the other night totally vanished.
- However, Rosie stopped at the door, and without looking back, she muttered, “It’s my birthday today.”
- "Happy birthday, honey!” Ian was snoring.
- Hearing that, Rosie was infuriated. She could not help but grit her teeth. Not only Ian had a low IQ, he was thoughtless. How could he do that to her? It was her birthday after all.
- Forget it! I don't even like him. Why should I care? Rosie mused. "Come to Lakeville Hotel for dinner tonight if you’re not busy.”
- With that, Rosie slammed the door and left for work.
- “Is she angry?” Ian scratched his head. However, it seemed that there was nothing he could do. He was too weak. Even if he gave Rosie a mansion as a birthday present now, she would only think that he stole it.
- Ian had to recover to his peak condition no matter what. By that time, even if he only gave Rosie a simple ring, she would be touched.
- It was not until 10 a.m. that Ian got out of bed. He went out and was thinking about how he could make fast money. Needless to say, getting rewards for wanted criminals was the fastest way. However, there were not many wanted criminals all the time
- Ian wandered on the street for a few hours before something from a dump caught his eye. He knew he needed a good cauldron apart from expensive medicinal herbs to refine miracle pills. In fact, a good cauldron was rare, and not necessary could be bought with money.
- Ian felt lucky that day. He saw a faint light emitting from the dump when a boy threw a bag stealthily into the trash heap. It was invisible to ordinary people.
- However, Ian could see it. He somehow had that extraordinary power after the accident.
- After the boy left, Ian quickly walked over and picked up the bag. However, before he could open it, he heard a voice behind him. “Mr. Young, what are you doing? Are you picking up things from the trash?”
- It was Keith. He rolled down the window and looked at Ian mockingly inside the car. Mr. Young was the nickname he gave Ian. He wanted to ridicule him for staying with the Young family even though he married Rosie.
- However, Ian did not want to argue with Keith. He shrugged and said, "I'm here to throw garbage.”
- “Really? It’s so far from your house to this area. Why do you need to travel so far just to dump something?” Keith continued to snigger.
- “Well, it’s none of your business.” With that, Ian limped to an alley with the bag in his hand. He was eager to check what was inside the bag.
- Seeing that Ian walked away, Keith took out his phone and snapped a few photos. He wanted to show the photos to his colleagues to make fun of Ian again.
- On the other hand, Ian was so excited. As he expected, there was a cauldron inside the bag. It was dirty with ashes inside. It seemed that it had been used as an ashtray all the while.
- There was a crack at the upper right corner.. Ian was a little disappointed that the cauldron had a flaw/
- Nonetheless, the cauldron was a piece of antique. It was probably worth tens of millions. Even if it was imperfect with a crack, it could be worth at least a few million.
- Ian believed the boy must have broken the cauldron by accident. Afraid that his family would scold him, he secretly took it out and threw it away.
- Thanks to him that I found this precious item. Ian thought.
- Without further ado, Ian put the cauldron back in the bag and headed to the nearby recycling center. He was thinking to repair the cauldron himself. However, since the cauldron was made of hard metal, he needed to find a lot of metal scraps to repair it.
- Ian did not leave the recycling center until it was almost sunset. He knew as long as he got the cauldron repaired and purchased all the necessary medicinal herbs, he could refine the miracle pills soon. Ian was confident he could recover at least 70% of his energy after taking the pills.
- At that time, money and fame could be obtained at his fingertips, and Rosie would be so proud of him.
- Ian thought about it happily as he walked across the alley. Suddenly, the phone in his pocket rang.
- It was Rosie. He pressed the answer key in a hurry and asked, “Honey, have you finished work? Do you want me to pick you up?”
- "I'm at Lakeville Hotel. Are you coming?” Although Rosie did not like Ian, he was still her husband. Others would gossip if Ian did not appear for her birthday.
- "I'll be right there,” Ian answered and walked out of the alley in a hurry. He still carried the caldron and the metal scraps with him. Even in other people’s eyes, these metal scraps might not be worth a penny, however, there were priceless to Ian.
- Rosie hung up the phone. It seemed that Ian had no plan to come to the hotel if she had not called him. What kind of husband is he? Rosie was disappointed.
- A group of people came in from outside the hotel. They were Rosie’s colleagues. The man who walked in the front was Keith. He had shot al the 3 kidnappers. It was likely he would be promoted soon. The other colleagues immediately fawn over him.
- However, Rosie did not have any feelings for Keith. “Take a seat and have some fruit while we wait for the rest,” she said with a smile.
- “Happy birthday, Rosie.” Keith greeted Rosie and handed her an exquisite jewelry box.
- Rosie looked at the jewelry box and frowned. “It’s too expensive, Keith. I can’t accept it.”
- “No, not at all. It’s only a bracelet.” Keith smiled.
- “Just accept it. Mr. Crawford buys it, especially for you.” The other colleagues cheered. In fact, Keith and Rosie were a perfect match in their eyes. They all hoped Keith could win Rosie’s heart. They did not like Rosie’s husband at all.
- "Okay, but please don’t do it again.” Although Rosie accepted the gift, she was not happy. She was wondering why Ian had not arrived yet.
