Chapter 5 Just Reject Me Already
- Fillipa
- I bit my lips hard to suppress the sob that threatened to spill past my lips and the urge to burst into tears. I've always wished for a mate who would acknowledge me, love me, and care for me no matter what storm we may pass through.
- Unfortunately, that said mate of mine was already hitched to another woman. Why moon goddess? Why is fate cruel to me? Why do I end up losing the things I need most?
- Alpha Oswald broke contact with me and looked away with a blank expression.
- My mood fell, I felt weak on my knees and I was on the verge of crying.
- "Who's she?" Alpha Oswald questioned with a slight frown on his face like he was dissatisfied with me or something.
- “Your mate” I wanted to scream out but I stopped myself from doing so because I knew I’d just cry and make a fool out of myself for a man who didn’t even want to acknowledge our mate bond.
- "Maia from Green Mist Pack," Wyatt replied and explained the details about how we met coupled with the lies I told him.
- "Oh. Poor lady." Luna Lorelei smiled at me with sympathy in her eyes.
- Although I knew none of what happened was her fault, I still held a grudge against her because if she wasn’t in the way maybe my mate would want me.
- "Did you make sure she can't endanger the pack?" Alpha Oswald asked, eyeing me from head to toe with a frown.
- This jerk! Not only was he pretending as if we weren't mates, but now he's accusing me of being a danger. Can someone be more heartless?
- "Yes." Beta Wyatt replied, and I smiled gratefully at him even though he didn’t turn to look at me.
- “You know the pack is at the stage where we can't just give anyone the chance to enter our pack, there are spies out there." Alpha Oswald said, frowning deeply while staring at me with a distasteful look.
- I had a feeling that he just wanted to throw me out of the park so he could hide the bond we shared and to be fair he already had a beautiful Luna by his side, so why would he still want a useless omega like me by his side?
- At this point, I had already resolved within myself to leave if he wanted to throw me out because I wasn’t ready to go through another round of embarrassment.
- I was already heartbroken and if I said one more word I would end up crying and I didn’t want to especially because Luna Lorelei’s eyes were fixed on me.
- “Uhm..” I cleared my throat and they all turned to look at me.
- Oh goodness gracious I hope I wasn’t about to make a mistake.
- “Uhh..Alpha,” I proceeded to call out ignoring the intent stares I was getting. “Alpha if you are not satisfied with me or comfortable with my presence here I would humbly leave,” I said and the silence that followed was deafening.
- Alpha Oswald didn’t have any expression on his face, Alpha Hudson looked amused, same as Luna Lorelei. The only person who held a confused expression on his face was Beta Wyatt.
- I was sure he couldn’t understand why I had decided to leave on my own when no judgment had been passed on me seeing how I was eager to come with them in the first place.
- Alpha Oswald didn’t say a word and when I couldn’t bear the silence anymore I ran out of the room and once I was out I broke down in tears.
- I cried bitterly and just let the tears flow. My life was falling apart. I was almost killed by my uncle in the park I was supposed to be ruling, I got saved and when I thought my life was finally coming together I got to this park, met my mate and he didn’t even want me. He wouldn’t even spare me a glance.
- The thought of it made me cry harder and I could tell my wolf “Maia” was sad too.
- “Maia”, I heard someone call and I turned to see it was Wyatt.
- I quickly tried to wipe my tears away but it was useless as he had already seen me crying.
- “What was that all about?” He asked coldly, referring to the little drama I had displayed inside the room.
- I opened my mouth to speak but my words got cut up by my sobs. Wyatt seemed surprised and squatted down to console me. He held me in his hands as I sobbed sorrowfully.
- “Shhhh… it’s okay.” He coooed.
- I cried some more before finally calming down and cleaning my tears. I was surprised that the almighty cold beta Wyatt was consoling me but I was grateful nevertheless.
- “You know you don’t have to leave, the Alpha only made that statement as a security measure. He didn’t mean no harm.” He said and I nodded my head knowing he didn’t understand my situation.
- “Now we’ll go back in there because you don’t walk out on an Alpha ever.” He said and turned to walk back inside.
- I followed like a quiet puppy and when I entered back into the room I met everyone still seated in the position I had left them in.
- Alpha Oswald smirked when he saw me but his expression also quickly turned blank.
- “So, she’ll have to go through a mysterious test for two weeks. If she passes it then she can stay in the pack and if she doesn't, she'll be punished before she's kicked out." Alpha Oswald uttered.
- Luna Lorelei frowned slightly, "Babe, that's new. Don't you normally go with the motto of 'we are kinship, and we should accept one another'?" She said, leaning towards him with an amused chuckle.
- "There are times when there's a need to dump the motto." He replied, stroking her hair. He looked at me like he was trying to provoke me on purpose and my heart broke at the sight, I quickly looked up to send the tears back to their socket.
- Wyatt stared at me, and his gaze seemed to soften, perhaps he was being nice to me because he could see I was struggling. "Do you think you are up for it?" He asked.
- “No, I prefer to leave. I said in a firm tone and Alpha Oswald frowned.
- He glanced at Alpha King Hudson and Beta Wyatt before turning to face his Luna.
- “I'd like to be left alone with Maia.” He announced and Alpha King Hudson and Beta Wyatt shrugged before leaving the room, although Luna Lorelei stayed rooted to her seat.
- “You too baby, I'd like to be left alone with Maia.” He said, turning to face his Luna. Although she didn’t look pleased she still got up and left the room, leaving the both of us together.
- "May I know the reason why you sent everyone out, Alpha Oswald?" I questioned him with a slight bow, keeping my distance from him to prevent my enthusiastic wolf from jumping on him.
- "Mate?" Alpha Oswald called out with his sexy voice and a tinge of pleasure ran through my spine making my legs weak.
- "Mate?" He called again in his sexy baritone voice and Maia jumped up happily.
- I didn’t say anything and just stared at him quietly. "I have a partner, a Luna, so you can't stay in the Power Axis pack." He said, and I rolled my eyes.
- I knew all this and that was why I was choosing the easy way out, that was the reason I wanted to leave.
- “I know all that and that is why I want to leave, all I want you to do now is to reject me.” I retorted in a calm voice.
- Something seemed to snap in me due to the rejection words which made me wince in pain. I stared at him but he looked indifferent. Perhaps, the pain didn't affect his bond.
- I had never thought of my mate rejecting me or expecting myself to tell him to reject me but right now if it'll guarantee my sanity I didn’t mind the pain.
- "And don't worry, I'm not attracted to you anyway," I whispered to his hearing only for him to glare daggers at me. 'So I won't come between you and your Luna.' I said.
- "I'd rather go for your Beta," I whispered again, seeing as he was getting affected by it.
- "You'll not take interest in other men or else I'll see to it that you're kicked out of the power Axis pack." He growled holding my neck.
- I stared at Alpha Oswald in disbelief. How come my mate was this type of jerk? He wasn’t willing to accept me nor did he want to reject me, and yet he's angry I would like to go for someone else.
- Is he crazy?
- "Crazy?" He whispered, chuckling in amusement.
- My eyes widened slightly; I didn't expect him to know my thoughts or did I blurt my thoughts out by mistake?
- He suddenly moved toward me and stopped right in front of me, his blue and black eyes staring down at my soul making me swallow hard.
- “If it was up to me, I’d want you to leave this pack right away. But for other pack members and my Luna not to suspect anything, I’m giving you a fair chance to stay in the pack. But you must first agree to go through a mysterious test for two weeks.” He said, looking at me intently.
- I thought about it long and hard, I didn’t have anywhere to go from here even if I ended up leaving and I wouldn’t want to leave like that after all Nancy, Asher, and even Wyatt had done for me.
- “I have decided to take the test,” I said in a firm tone and Alpha Oswald smirked.
