Chapter 4 Fated Mate

• "If it turns out that you lied about your identity…" He finally finished his statement in a harsh stern voice.
• What was wrong with this guy? Why the hell was he testing me? Does he want to blow my cover?
• "Let's leave." Beta Wyatt said and walked out with Doctor Asher.
• "You heartless thing. You scared my patient." I heard Asher murmur as they left the room.
• I heaved a sigh of relief once they were out of the room. That was a close one because even though I do like to believe that I'm fearless and arrogant, I was affected a lot by Beta Wyatt's presence, that man was scary, damn.
• "What if they find out our identity?" Maia, my wolf suddenly questioned which made my heart skip a beat.
• "I can only hope they don't find out or else we'll truly be six feet deep as Wyatt promised.” I sighed.
• But even though they did find out the truth it wasn’t like I lied or something, Maia was the name of my wolf so it could pass for my name also…Duh.

• I found out from Nancy who was now a friend of mine that I was almost out for two weeks. It also seemed that Beta Wyatt and his team were out in the mountains to search for something, but I had yet to find out what it was.
• I was lost in my thoughts when suddenly I heard footsteps approaching me and I lifted my head to see it was Beta Wyatt. "We're returning to the pack today; you can choose to come with us or…"
• "I'll come with you." I interrupted without letting him finish his statement. "I'll come with you," I replied again.
• "We'll be leaving in thirty minutes. Hurry up." He said coldly and walked out.
• I rushed into the villa, picked up a few of my things, and fixed myself up before going to join the others outside as a private helicopter had been sent to pick us up.
• As I settled down in my seat, I suddenly felt a sense of peace knowing that I was probably leaving for a pack that was far from Red Flame Pack and Alpha Henry.
• My fist tightened when I remembered all I had been through in the hands of Alpha Henry and I silently declared that I would be back for revenge.
• After three days we finally arrived at our destination and I was the happiest person when it was announced that all passengers could alight, although for some reason I began to feel nervous after.
• You know, I never asked which pack you’re from," I said casually to Nancy, trying to mask the nervous flutter in my chest.
• I was both excited and nervous, excited because I was happy to be far away from the red flame pack and nervous because I was hoping that I hadn’t made a bad decision.
• I didn’t know how accommodating the pack members were and I could only pray they were nice and friendly like Nancy and Asher.
• "Well." Nancy stopped in her tracks and bowed to me dramatically. "Welcome to the Power Axis pack." She announced and I froze.
• "Pow. Power Axis pack? You're from the Power Axis pack?" I stammered my voice barely above a whisper.
• I couldn't believe that I willingly entered the power axis pack, the biggest pack in the werewolf clan which is known for being controlled by Alpha Hudson.
• The same bald and potbellied ugly Alpha whom my uncle almost married me off to. Not only that, all the women who were sold to him were rumored to die one way or the other in less than three days.
• Sweat trickled down my face and my leg almost gave way. How could I make such a reckless mistake?
• "Are you okay?" Nancy asked with concern, touching my forehead.
• I forced a smile and nodded, though my mind was spiraling. How could I have willingly walked into the lion’s den?
• Beta Wyatt and Asher strode toward us before stopping in front of us.
• Wyatt stared at me coldly, "Come with me." He ordered in his cold voice and I followed suit.
• I couldn't help having mixed feelings as I dragged my feet behind Wyatt. Perhaps he knew I was lying all along and purposely pretended not to, so he could trick me into the Power Axis pack so they could kill me.
• "What's wrong with you?" Wyatt glared at me coldly, which made me gulp in fear as tears gathered in my eyes.
• "I… is it too late to leave now?" I questioned in a tiny voice. Because if it was possible I could leave, I'd scurry out of this place and never look back.
• "Leave where?" Wyatt stared at me with a slight frown on his face.
• I was about to explain myself when I suddenly heard laughter coming from one of the rooms.
• "Wyatt, you're back so soon. I hope you passed your first assessment as the new beta of the power Axis pack." A very handsome man who seemed to be in his forties asked with a gentle smile on his face.
• Beta Wyatt turned away from me and turned to the man, "Alpha Hudson." He greeted, bowing.
• My eyes widened in disbelief. Didn't the rumors claim that Alpha Hudson is a potbellied and ugly man, how come the Alpha Hudson I'm seeing is a very handsome man with a carefree smile on his face?
• "I told you not to call me Alpha anymore, it makes me feel as if I still carry the burden of the power Axis pack. Direct that title to Oswald." Alpha Hudson said jokingly.
• Wyatt bowed to Alpha Hudson, "My bad, Alpha King." He said.
• Alpha King Hudson nodded with satisfaction and turned to me, "Who is she? Your mate?" He asked with a grin on his face.
• So all the rumors about Alpha Hudson were fake? I quickly bowed to him while blushing furiously. How could he think Wyatt and I were mates?
• Although Wyatt was handsome, my heart skipped a beat for him due to fear only.
• Wyatt didn't glance at me, his face was calm as if he didn't hear Alpha King Hudson's words which made my expression switch to normal.
• "No, Alpha King. Maia is someone I saved at the mountain. I'll introduce her properly in the office." He replied calmly.
• Alpha King Hudson nodded his head calmly, opened the fourth door on the right side of the passage, and entered it. There were seven doors in total on this passage.
• I followed them since Wyatt had walked after him and as soon as I stepped into the office an agarwood scent drifted into my nose, making me more comfortable than I've ever been.
• I stared straight into the low-key monotone office and saw a handsome man in his twenties sitting on an expensive chair. A beautiful lady was also sitting next to him and they were holding hands like a perfect couple.
• 'Mate.' My wolf declared once I locked eyes with the man making it seem as though time had frozen and we were the only ones in the room.
• I was overwhelmed with joy and giddy with excitement. Finally, I've come across the mate I've been wishing for.
• "Alpha Oswald, Luna Lorelei. I'm back from the mission." Beta Wyatt greeted calmly and bowed his head.
• Alpha Oswald nodded to Wyatt and stared back at my inquisitive gaze calmly. He had the most beautiful pair of eyes I’ve ever seen. His right eye was blue and the left black and as I was still staring at him he locked eyes with me and in that minute, Alpha Oswald and I knew we were fated mates.
• Even without touching him, pleasurable sparks were running through me, and I'm sure he must have been feeling the same thing.
• 'He's my mate. He's our mate,' Maia's words kept on resounding in my head until reality hit me and I froze.
• Alpha Oswald, the leader of the largest pack, is my mate. And to make things worse, he already has a Luna!
