Chapter 3 Six Feet Deep

  • Flippa
  • I stretched my neck and turned towards the door and I froze immediately.
  • Sweet heavens. What was going on? Another breathtaking man in less than an hour? What was this place?
  • The man looked like he was in his twenties, he seemed pretty tall so I presumed he was 6.3ft tall.
  • He had a muscular body, straight eyebrows, long lashes, black eyes, a long and pointed nose, a well-carved jaw, sexy lips, and oh my he looked like a Demigod.
  • He was dressed in a sleek black suit and wore a cold expression that sent chills down my spine.
  • "Hey… Beta Wyatt, you’re back" Doctor Asher said, grinning at the tall man that had refused to even smile a bit.
  • “So his name was Wyatt and he was a Beta, okay got it,” I said to myself inwardly.
  • "Asher, I wonder when you'll learn to stop flirting during treatment, seriously.” Beta Wyatt muttered, leaning against the wall with a displeased frown on his face.
  • His dark gaze shifted to me and it seemed like he was scanning me with his eyes which made me shiver under his cold stare. He stared at me for a few more seconds before finally looking away.
  • Throughout that period, I refused to make a sound and my heart was pounding profusely because I had a feeling that Beta Wyatt was someone I should never mess with.
  • He was so attractive but cold… ugh.
  • "It's not my fault Nancy finds me attractive." Doctor Asher finally replied with a mischievous grin on his face.
  • Nancy… so the girl's name was Nancy. I was picking up their names little by little because it was going to come in handy later.
  • "Who finds you attractive?" Nancy smacked Asher again and stomped out of the room but not before greeting Beta Wyatt politely.
  • There was silence in the room until Beta Wyatt suddenly spoke up, "How's she?" He asked, surprising me.
  • "She has almost recovered." Doctor Asher replied and turned to me with a smile, he seemed to be the sweet one, always smiling. “She’s healing surprisingly fast for an omega,” Doctor Asher remarked, breaking the tension. “I honestly didn’t think she’d even survive.” He said before winking at me.
  • I squeezed my finger nervously, "I didn't expect it either. I guess I'm lucky." I replied quietly.
  • Beta Wyatt suddenly stared at me and made his way toward the side of my bed. "What's your name? Where are you from? Did someone try to kill you or did you try to commit suicide?" He rushed his questions in a cold and intimidating voice.
  • I swallowed hard, shivering with fear at his cold gaze. His eyes were boring into mine and I didn’t know how to act.
  • Because I became a slave before I could join the royal family meeting, I was unable to recognize which pack Beta Wyatt hails from, and it made me worried that it was likely for them to know me once I mentioned my real name. After all, my name was famously known in the werewolf clan before my parents' death.
  • Back then, a lot of princes and princesses liked to make a trip to the red flame pack to see my face, play with me, and make connections.
  • Unfortunately, Alpha Henry immediately ordered them to stop seeing me after my parents' death so none of them would know I was being maltreated by him and his family.
  • Right now, I don't know how many days or weeks I have been unconscious, but I know that my death has likely spread around the wolf clans.
  • After everything I've gone through in the Red Flame pack, I didn’t want to return there for the meantime until I was the strong version of myself.
  • So even though I don't know who these people were, I'd rather leave with them if they’re willing to accept me than return to the Red Flame pack.
  • "My….My name is Maia." I lied nervously, I wasn’t about to tell them my real name and risk being exposed.
  • I lowered my eyes, afraid that Beta Wyatt would stare into my eyes, and discover that I was lying.
  • "Maia? A beautiful name for a beautiful omega." Doctor Asher winked at me which made my face burn red. I was relieved that they seemed to buy my lie except that…
  • "Maia?" Beta Wyatt repeated with a frown on his face. My heart skipped a beat. It couldn't be that he knew I was lying, could he?
  • I gulped and nodded my head nervously.
  • "Reply to my other questions." He said and I sighed in relief.
  • "I’m from the Green Mist pack. My parents died a few months ago, and I was driven out by my greedy relatives who wanted all my parents' properties to themselves. I decided to commit suicide due to frustration." I quickly weaved a half-lie and half-truth, while shedding crocodile tears and praying to the moon goddess that Beta Wyatt doesn't know the truth.
  • My heart was pounding the entire time because Wyatt's face was cold throughout as if he didn't believe my words.
  • His black eyes were firmly locked on me but upon remembering that this was my only chance, I gritted my teeth and refused to dodge his gaze.
  • Finally, he made his way beside me, his steps clicking against the floor one after the other until he was right in front of me. His sandalwood scent wrapped strongly around me.
  • My stomach churned as he stared at me making me gulp down nothing in fear and nervousness.
  • "I don’t care if you’re a runaway princess or a slave,” he hissed in a dangerously low tone. “If you’re lying to me—” he paused.
  • My heart was thumping against my chest at this point, and it was a miracle none of them had heard my chaotic heartbeat.
  • Did he know I was lying? How did he know I was a runaway princess and a slave at the same time?
  • "I… I…" I stuttered nervously, but before I could say anything, Beta Wyatt's finger suddenly made a slicing motion that almost made me jump, his black eyes locking into mine.
  • "You'll be six feet deep…”
