Chapter 473 Impulsive Vow To An Enigmatic Husband
- Two minutes later, the door was pushed open again. Tanisha was the first to enter, followed by a tall middle–aged woman. Cornelia looked up and her heart turned ice–cold the moment she saw the newcomer’s face. She trembled, asking, “Why are you here?” Clair ran towards Cornelia with tears in her eyes. “You, you’re my Nelly, aren’t you? Nelly, I’m your mother. After all these years, I’ve finally found you” Tanisha said, “Do you two know each other? Well, you guys chat. I have other things to take care of.” Cornelia replied coldly. “Could you please ask her to leave? I don’t want her in my house.” Clair said, “Nelly, I know you hate me because I abandoned you in the past. Please, give me a few minutes to explain.”
- When Clair found out that Cornelia’s husband was Marcus, she immediately bought the quickest plane ticket to Rosenberg. Whether or not Cornelia accepted her as a mother, she was determined to claim Cornelia as her daughter and make sure Marcus became her son–in–law. Once Marcus became her son–in–law, who would dare to look down on her from the Reese family? She never thought that the daughter of the Stewart family could be so capable, quietly marrying Marcus and becoming the esteemed Mrs. Hartley If she had known the girl held such a position, she would have respected her like a deity, never daring to bully her. “Get out! Don’t claim to be my mother. I could never have a mother like you” Cornelia had imagined her mother countless times growing up. She pictured her as beautiful, gentle, and generous. She never thought her mother could be Clair, a woman who made her feel disgusted at first sight!
- Tanisha didn’t know what the conflict was between the mother and daughter, but seeing Cornelia’s attitude, she knew Clair must have done something wrong, “Clair, Cornelia doesn’t want to see you, come out with me.” Clair pleaded, “Tanisha, we’ve known each other for so many years, you should know what kind of person I am. I won’t hurt Nelly, I just want a chance to explain. You’re a mother too, you should understand how I feel.” Clair used to be a good person, and when Tanisha heard about their divorce, she could hardly believe it, believing maybe there was some misunderstanding between them. She was worried about Cornelia getting hurt again, but also hoped that the misunderstanding could be cleared up and the mother and daughter could recognize each other. After hesitating for a while, Tanisha decided to give Clair a chance, “Nelly, it’s better to clear things up. You guys talk, I’ll go out.”
