Chapter 8

• Suddenly the sound of several horses approaching was heard, a stormy roar caused the people to disperse from the commotion, they turned to see and they were Alan, Evander, Leno, Bruno and some warriors.
• Alan seeing the people gathered, dismounted his horse, with a loud voice says. "What is this commotion, what's going on here."
• The women on hearing the alpha separated, the girls helped each other to get up all full of mud.
• It was tremendous the surprise that Alan got when I visualize the people that are getting up, it was his sister, Emma, and Ashley, I try to keep control and quickly I approach to help his sister, she has messed up hair, she was with her clothes and face full of mud. "Marie by the moon goddess, what are you doing here sister, what happened?"
• Marie seeing her friends who are just like her, I turn to see Delia and pointing my finger at her I shout furiously. "That damn woman, she pounced on us Alan."
• The merchants were paralyzed when they heard them call each other brothers, a little far away were Evander, Leno and Bruno who were watching very serious, but holding back the urge to laugh at the scene they saw, they decide to approach mounted on their horses.
• Bruno amused mounted on my stallion, joked. "I see around here things don't change" but he shut up when he saw Alan's hard look.
• The man holding Nick, defends himself with an aggrieved tone. "The boy stole, if you search him you'll find under his shirt what he took from me."
• Emma: I approach the man with a dirty and beaten face growled, "Let go of my brother, if you don't let go right now I swear I'll kill him."
• The rage in her look and the courage in her words left the warriors breathless, who saw in Emma a woman with a lot of character, that strength attracted Evander's curiosity even more.
• Delia pointing at Emma. "But she's a freaking su...."
• Ashley wouldn't let her continue. "Watch your words when you talk about my sister or you'll be dealing with me again."
• Bruno whispered to Leno. "What a temper the women of this land have." Leno again had to hold back laughter.
• The man released a tearful Nick, who ran to hide behind Emma.
• Evander as he got off his dark, huge horse, attracting everyone's stares and in a hoarse voice says. "Nick what have you stolen?."
• Ashley intimidated by the alphas takes flight and in a timid voice says. "Sir is it a boy?."
• Evander turns to look at her seriously, in a manly voice he says. "I'm talking to his brother."
• Emma seeing that big man approaching, thought, damn Nick, now, how do we get out of this; Nick continued hiding behind her, for the first time she stared at her mate's eyes feeling a strange burning in her gut, she observed hard and implacable eyes that's why he was known as the big fierce wolf, the terrible warrior she had heard so many macabre stories about and the one that according to Sara had been watching her, his figure was imposing and implacable, both for height and for the width of his shoulders.
• Alan in a regal voice says. "Nick, you have disobeyed my orders and that deserves punishment."
• The sisters at the same time shouted. "No!"
• Marie horrified. "Alan for the love of goddess moon, have mercy, he is a child, they did not accept Emma's offer to pay them back what was stolen and broken, they have only dedicated themselves to humiliate and insult them, and then..."
• Alan looked at his sister and shouted. "Quiet Marie, tomorrow Nick, I want to see you at the castle to talk about your punishment."
• Bruno and Leno, hearing this looked at each other, they knew Alan very well, they knew that the punishment he would impose on the boy would not go beyond helping in the stable with the horses.
• Evander bending down to get on his level. "Nick, would you get out of your sister's skirts so I can talk to you like a man."
• Nick pale and frightened by his actions and that huge warrior, stepped out bravely.
• Evander looked at him and was about to curse when he discovered the slap mark on his face. "Show me what you stole," without needing to repeat the question, the boy reached his little hands under his dirty shirt and pulled out something which he deposited in my big, calloused hands.
• Nick sobbing says. "I wanted my sisters to look pretty at the wedding and I took these pendants for them."
• Emma crouching down next to him, unable to utter another word. "Oh, Nick."
• Emma crouching down next to Nick, she stood very close to Evander, she admired that he is handsome, just inches away I can smell his fresh mossy scent.
• Evander for the first time in my life I realize that the color blue had more than one shade, as I lost myself in his eyes, his lips invited me to kiss them, to take them, and the warmth of his white skin still muddy and dirty, left me speechless.
• Emma reacted and looked at Nick "We appreciate it, but we don't want you to steal anything, don't you understand?"
• Evander upset by the presence of my mate highlighted. "Stealing is something that is not right, many men go to dungeons, die or get whipped for it, do you want something like that to happen to you?"
• Ashley I quickly reply. "Sir, if my brother has to go to the dungeons or be punished, I will take his place."
• Emma hearing that, her heart skipped a beat, she would never allow it!" she shouted. "What are you saying, I won't consent to something like that," looking straight into Evander's eyes and took a deep breath to say with more momentum. "They are both my brothers, sir, I am responsible for them, whatever they do, the responsibility is mine, if someone has to go somewhere or pay for something, don't doubt it will be me."
• Those words left everyone speechless, Leno was amazed by the strength of those women, especially the young woman who answered to the name of Ashley, there was something about her that caught his attention.
• Evander confused by the girls' reaction. "I'm not saying anyone needs to be whipped, I'm just making Nick understand that stealing can bring serious trouble in the future for him and his family."
• Bruno approached them to say. "that's where my brother is right, Nick should learn from a young age that certain types of situations can get him into trouble."
• Evander with regret, withdrew his gaze from the girl to fix it on the boy and say. "Promise me that you will never steal again or it will be your parents who will pay for your problems."
• Nick very seriously stated. "We don't have parents."
• Evander with his serious look and imposing voice says. "But you have sisters, they wish that someday you would be a brave warrior to defend them, don't you think, besides, I'm sure your lord would like to be able to count on warriors like you."
• Nick who one day wanted to be a warrior, replied sheepishly. "Yes I promise, sir."
• Delia hearing him reply in a mocking voice. "Warrior, that thief!!!, but if they are Sure....!"
• Marie realizing what the woman was going to say shouts. "Shut up, don't insult them again or you'll have to deal with me again."
• Emma walks up to the woman and stands in front of her. "Say that word again and I swear I'll rip your teeth out and make a necklace out of them."
• Evander hearing that, looked at his brother and Leno, surprised thought, the moon goddess punished me with a woman with that character, let's see if she can be bent.
• Alan to see what was going on, without asking I intuit what has happened here. "Delia, pick up your goods and get off my land."
• Delia's man grabbed her by the arm to shut her up, he exclaimed. "But, sir we have done nothing wrong, we were the wronged ones."
• Alan paying no attention to the man's words, with a loud voice shouts. "If anyone else wishes to leave with them, go ahead! but no one insults my people, understanding that night is coming, the only option I am able to reason is that they spend the night here, but in the morning I don't want to see them in my lands, understood!"
• "Yes, sir," the merchants shouted, walking away from Delia.
• Delia held by her husband, sparked at the sight of those girls smiling.
• Evander says. "Nick remember your promise," then turned seriously to the merchant, who was pale with fear. "I'll take care of the payment."
• Emma reacted quickly and approached him to say. "No! Mr. Brownes, don't worry, I already told the Lord that I will pay for it."
• Evander just inches away from her whispered. "No need."
• At that moment Emma realized how close they were, taking a step back, she stepped away from him.
• Evander still glaring at her, like a wolf hungry for its prey, pinned her green eyes on him and, for a few moments they both looked into each other's eyes, as if no one else existed.
• Alan interrupted. "for the moment, what you are going to do is go home to change your clothes and get the mud off you, later, we will continue talking." then, turning to the merchants he says. "Tomorrow morning, whoever thinks like them, I don't want to see them around."
• Evander pointing at them. "I don't know yet what has happened, but on my land, I don't want to see them."
• Leno who has been silent says. "Nor on mine."
• Alan looks at his sister and says. "Marie come here, I'll take you to the castle so you can change your clothes and be a lady again."
• Marie shouted angrily as she was lifted up by her brother at Bruno's mocking face. "I am a lady, but injustices can do me wrong."
• Emma taking him by the hand and starting to walk says. "Come on Nick."
• Alan while turning his horse back in the direction of the castle says. "Evander! " can you see to it that Emma and her brothers get home without them getting into any more trouble?"
• Emma walking fast shouted. "No, we'll walk, my lord, it's too close besides we love to walk."
• But the warriors had already made their decision.
