Chapter 19

• Upon entering the restaurant and sitting at one of the tables, this Matteo guy started chatting with Kat, leaving me out. I just watched them like an idiot. I'm not jealous, but this situation was uncomfortable, and what bothered me the most was that Kat hadn't been able to tell him that we were dating. That hurt.
• "Don't you think she's cute?" Kat asked me, showing me a photo of a girl about ten years old.
• I forced a smile and nodded. Kat handed the phone back to Matteo and continued talking to him, ignoring my presence.
