Zachary’s face contorted with a frown, perplexed by the woman's peculiar response. Undeterred, she calmly opened her mouth, gesturing for him to look inside her throat. As he peered inside, a chill ran down his spine; the sight of her throat covered in eerie burn scars caused his eyes to harden with emotion.
