Chapter 3 Daddy Is A Superhero
- A portly middle-aged man in a suit sat in a high-backed chair in the principal's office. He held a dog leash in one hand, the other end of which was fastened around the neck of a four-year-old girl.
- In his other hand, he wielded a whip. As Zachary entered, the man had just finished delivering a lash and was taunting, "You little sl*t, did that feel good? Call me Daddy, and I'll give you a lollipop as a reward!"
- The little girl, dressed in a tattered dress with several bloodstains on her legs from the beatings, cried out, "You're not Daddy! I have a Daddy!"
- Zachary' blood boiled with rage, his fury surging through him, making breathing hard. It felt as if countless steel blades pierced his heart.
- "Get out!" Zachary roared, his eyes bloodshot with fury. He charged at the portly man, delivering a powerful kick that sent him flying across the room.
- The man crashed into a bookshelf, which shattered under the impact, scattering books all over the floor. The heavy blow left the man unconscious.
- Zachary then slowly approached the little girl. In the dim light, her face was pale, stained with tears, and filled with fear, yet she stubbornly maintained eye contact with him. His reflection flickered in her terrified eyes as he drew closer.
- As Zachary approached, the little girl's body trembled, and she instinctively shrank back, uncertain and scared of what might happen next.
- "Viviana, I'm Daddy ... " Zachary' heart tightened, his eyes stinging with emotion as he slowly knelt before the little girl, extending his arms toward her.
- "I'm Daddy. Viviana, I've come to rescue you." His voice was soft, almost as if speaking only to himself.
- Seeing Zachary' careful and gentle expression, a flicker of confusion crossed Viviana's eyes. But when she noticed the sadness on his face, her fear began to fade rapidly.
- "Daddy?" When she uttered the word "Daddy," a spark of hope lit up in her eyes. This man said he was her daddy. Could it be true?
- After hearing his daughter's voice, Zachary' heart ached, and he struggled to hold back tears. He was her daddy, yet for the past four years, he had failed in his duty, leaving her to suffer such unimaginable hardships.
- Zachary knelt before his daughter, carefully tearing apart the leash that bound her. As he looked at her bruised and battered body, he wanted nothing more than to hold her, but he was afraid of hurting her more.
- "Daddy." Viviana's voice grew louder, her bright eyes fixed on Zachary. "Are you my Daddy?"
- "Yes, I'm Daddy! Viviana, Daddy's here, Daddy's here now!" Zachary gently pulled her into his arms, holding her utmostly.
- A smile slowly appeared on Viviana's face. "Daddy! Daddy is a superhero! You're coming from the sky to save me!"
- "Daddy's here to save you, Viviana. Don't be afraid anymore. We're safe now. I promise you, no one will ever hurt you again." Zachary held his daughter close, overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow. He choked on his words, "I'm so sorry. I didn't protect you."
- She was his daughter, Viviana Cooke. She looked so adorable, having inherited her mommy's beautiful features. But to think that she had been beaten, tied up like a dog with a leash—those people deserve to die! Zachary wanted nothing more than to tear apart the person who had hurt his daughter.
- "It's so great! I have a Daddy ... Daddy ... I'm not an illegitimate child ... Daddy ... " The little girl's voice grew softer and softer as she lay in Zachary' arms until it eventually faded away.
- "Viviana, what's wrong? Viviana!" Zachary felt his daughter's body go limp in his arms, and panic surged through him. He quickly checked her over—aside from the bruises on her knees and neck, there were no other visible injuries. Could she have been drugged?
- If it were that kind of drug, his daughter's life would be ruined!
- Thinking of the cruel methods these people could have used, Zachary became frantic. He scooped up his daughter and rushed outside. "Doctor! Doctor! Get a car! I need to get to the nearest hospital immediately!"
