Chapter 9 I’ll Entertain The Client, But You'd Better Not Regret It!
- Bo Cheng was so angered by this remark that his chest tightened and he asked aloud, “Say it again! I dare you!”
- Tang Jing said nothing and only looked at him with hate-filled eyes. The amount of love she had for him in the past was the amount of hatred she had for him now.
- She said, “Bo Cheng, you put me in prison for five years. Five whole years. I understand now that it’s not important at all whether I’m innocent; what's important is that you’ve never trusted me, not even a bit.”
- When she spoke, her tone was quick and cold, as if Bo Cheng was an insignificant stranger, and somehow, from a deeper perspective, she was trying her best to hurt him.
- With a smile on her lips, Tang Jing jeered, “Don’t tell me now that you find our old flame still burning?”
- A crack appeared in Bo Cheng’s angry eyes, and he stood up abruptly and grabbed Tang Jing’s neck with great force.
- Under Tang Jing’s cold gaze, his delicate face glazed over with ice as the corners of his mouth formed a ruthless smile and he asked her, “Who taught you to say things like that, huh? Are you feeling bold now, after coming out of prison?”
- The atmosphere around Tang Jing was cold as ice. Being grabbed by him in the neck, Tang Jing felt a shortness of breath as air was being drawn out of her while she exclaimed, “Bo Cheng, you taught me this yourself!”
- Bo Cheng shuddered, and he felt his blood curdle.
- Tang Jing let out a weak laugh under his chokehold. “Don’t worry. As long as you give me back my son, I will disappear from your sight for the rest of my life! Even if I die, not a word about my death will get to you!”
- Bo Cheng looked at her in disbelief and shouted, “What did you say?”
- Suddenly, Tang Jing struggled violently and broke free from Bo Cheng’s chokehold, flinging his hand away. She staggered and fell onto the ground, making a muffled thud as her knees hit the solid wooden floor, yet she didn’t make a sound and stood up wobbly in front of Bo Cheng.
- She uttered, “Bo Cheng, you’ve killed all my love for you. What else do you want from me? I have nothing else to give you, and you’ve taken everything from the Tang’s as well. Bo Cheng, I’m begging you. Have mercy on me, please.”
- Have mercy on me, please.
- The few words turned into a sharp knife cutting through his chest. The stabbing pain, similar to the one he felt when he witnessed her being shoved into the police car five years ago, had again crept into his heart. His pupils constricted at once, and he questioned in a hoarse voice, “What exactly do you want?”
- “I should be the one asking you this.”
- When Tang Jing looked up, the emotions in her eyes were fragmented. She had never thought she couldn’t escape Bo Cheng’s shadow, even after running away from it for the past five years.
- I love you, and I’ve paid the price for that by spending five years in prison. Bo Cheng, spare me, okay?
- Feeling sore in his throat, Bo Cheng was irritated when he saw the look on Tang Jing’s face. Tugging at his collar forcefully, he looked away from her face and whispered, “If you want your son back, then fine. Make a trip to Mago tonight and entertain a client of mine.”
- Looking up in disbelief, Tang Jing widened her eyes and glared at him fiercely. “Bo Cheng, are you asking me to be a hostess?”
- Bo Cheng sneered at her coldly. “Don’t you want to get your son back? Can’t you even do such a simple thing?”
- Taking a few steps back, Tang Jing shook her head and murmured, “I’m really not as cruel as you…”
- With that, she smiled again. Despite the tears in the corner of her eyes, Tang Jing grinned at Bo Cheng. “Okay, since Young Master Bo had given his order, I have no reason to disobey. I just have to entertain your client, and I’ll get my son back. I will do anything to get him back!”
- Tang Jing leaned in to Bo Cheng and laughed into his ears with a thin, shrill tone. “But... you'd better not regret it!”
- There seemed to be some kind of emotion flashing across Bo Cheng’s heart, but he couldn’t get ahold of it before it disappeared. Looking at Tang Jing before him, he was in a trance for a while.
- Why… is it such a confrontational scene when we meet again?
- It has been five years... All love was wiped out, and only hatred born out of desperation was left. How frightening would it be if those resentments blaze up again?
- He should hate her because she killed An Qing and their child, and yet, why was she looking at him with the same gaze? What gives you the right, Tang Jing, you murderer?
- With a blunt ache in his chest, Bo Cheng walked up to grab Tang Jing’s collar violently. “For a woman like you, I won’t even blink to send you into someone else’s bed.”
- “I know, right?” Tang Jing chuckled. “I’ve experienced your ruthlessness five years ago, and now I no longer feel anything about all of these.”
- With that, she opened her eyes and stared at Bo Cheng with her tired, numb eyes.
- How much more love and hatred can this torn body bear? Bo Cheng, I’m already an incomplete person for the rest of my life, so what difference would it make for my broken vessel to break into smaller pieces?
- There were many emotions hiding behind Bo Cheng’s deep and serene eyes that she couldn’t fathom, and she didn’t want to understand them, anyway. Those eyes were firmly fixed on her like those of a wolf pack’s leader, and Tang Jing felt that she had died countless times in his eyes.
- Despite her trembling shoulders, she held her head high and walked out, slamming the door.
- The people outside looked up and saw a beautiful but disheveled woman coming out of the chairman’s office with bloodshot eyes. She strode out and left behind an indistinct aroma when she passed them by. The slender figure went further away, and everyone was trying to guess who she was.
- “The view of her back looks familiar…”
- “Yeah, I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before.”
- “By the way, she came out like that… Is she the chairman’s new lover?”
- “Tsk tsk, but looking at her expression, it seems like she just had a fight with the chairman.”
- “Then, I think she’s one of those unpopular online influencers who keeps pestering him, thinking she can one day rise to fame.”
- “Forget it. Young Master Bo still loves Miss An the most.”
- Tang Jing went into the elevator quickly, cutting off the chattering behind her. When the elevator descended to the first floor and the door opened, she saw Jiang Xie walking inside with his eyebrows raised, and he had Bo Cheng’s secretary in his arms.
- Speechless, Tang Jing greeted him out of politeness, “Hi, Young Master Jiang.”
- “Are you leaving already?”
- Jiang Xie let go of the secretary and smiled at Tang Jing. “How did the talk go?”
- “Do you think I’m here to tell Bo Cheng stories?”
- Tang Jing’s voice was faint, as if it would be blown away by the wind. When she went out, Jiang Xie grabbed her wrist from behind.
- “What are you doing?”
- Tang Jing turned around and saw Jiang Xie jumping out of the elevator under the secretary’s startled look, leaving her alone in the elevator. When the elevator door closed, he squinted at her and smiled dashingly like a flower. “Popsy, I’ll see you again. Bye.”
- As soon as he said goodbye, Jiang Xie turned to Tang Jing and said, “I’ve changed my mind. I was supposed to look for Bo Cheng, but now I would rather come to you directly.”
