Chapter 4 Dina My Dear
- "Hands off." Just when Ken decided to kiss me, Dina yelled from behind him. He quickly removed his hands and stepped back. I don't know why she thought to follow me instead of ending up in a classroom, but I was glad she did.
- "How pathetic of you for bullying your own friend's sister," Dina shouted and as much as I was thankful for her, the word sister attacked me.
- Does everyone think we are siblings? But we aren't related at all, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben has told me countless times that I am not adopted to be his sister.
- "Oh, she is his sister?" Ken mockingly raised his brow, "He just has one sister, and who is as hot as he is, this thing is a burden." He scrunched his nose in revulsion, offending my non-existent ego. I looked down and angrily yelled inside my mind.
- Why can't I stand up for myself?
- "If she is so appalling, why can't you keep your hands off of her?" Dina, sure of herself and confident in her stance, yelped and marched in front of me to prevent me from Ken's foul lecherous. I clutched her arm to draw attention to myself. "This bullying needs to end today." She muttered as she switched to my direction, grasping my arm and pulling me as she briskly walked out of the scene and towards Tucker's classroom.
- "No, Dina please, what are you doing?" I kept yammering behind her like a scared kitten. Tucker and Monica were in the same section; I did not want to call her attention to me.
- She invaded the classroom with me being tugged along inaudible. I wanted to count the eyes staring at us as we walked past the seated students.
- "Mister Tucker Arch!" Dina announced loudly, Ken didn't follow us, why would he when he knew Dina was going to confront Tucker with this whole bullying thing.
- "Oh! Didn't know you would be missing me this bad. "Tucker, unaware of the incident by lockers, smirked as he always does.
- "Save your cheeky comments," Dina slammed the desk in front of him as her face hardened. Everybody zero in on us as if we were performing in a circus. Monica, who was Ken's twin, stared at Dina and then at me, she wasn't slow-witted to not pick up Dina was here for me.
- "Woah! Did I do something wrong?" Tucker was in his football letterman jacket, looking gorgeous but confused too. I hate to drag him in the middle of this drama.
- "Nope, that's the problem that you didn't even do anything," Dina argued, staring in his eyes confidently, how does she even do that? How the hell was she immune to his charms? I stayed put behind her with no courage to utter a word in my self-defense.
- "And what exactly should I be doing?" he raised his brow, confusion was written all over his face, "and why is Giselle here with you?" he tilted his head to look at me and demanded eye contact which I turned down due to being a sole reason of drawing the whole class' attention.
- I can still look at my surrounding from the corner of my eyes and my attention kind of averting to Steven Lock, the silent and creepy guy. No one has ever seen him hanging out with anyone from school, he was always by himself and alone when he wasn't with his group of friends. But despite of him, keeping himself as low as he could, there were talks about his eyes. Everyone used to compare his eyes with Tucker's, but it was comprehensible, Trucker's eyes can be defined, but Steven's were too mysterious for anyone to elucidate them. He had his head down and his eyes up, staring at all this drama silently while others kept whispering and murmuring.
- "Did you know your best friend Ken was bullying Giselle for months?" Dina announced, this time pissing Monica too. She raised her brow and let out the breath she was holding back.
- "Don't you dare put false accusations on my brother?" Monica, who had been eyeing Dina for a long time, was hindered by and by. There was some kind of tension going on between these two girls and it felt like the reason was Tucker, who was constantly flirting with Dina ever since he came back. I was kind of skeptical about Dina is so powerful over Tucker, but my simplicity of learning about behavior didn't let me be aware of it.
- "Shut up, I'm not talking to you." Dina snapped, making everyone gasp and Monica's jaw to meet the floor. Monica has never been talked back, most girls would love to chat with her, but Dina was not the type to stay under someone's control. Plus, Monica really wanted to impress Tucker again, which wasn't happening as Dina wasn't the right tool for that.
- "Ken?" Tucker, who was having a hard time believing in all that, questioned himself. His eyes narrowed down at the floor as he zoned out for a hit.
- "Tell him the truth, Giselle." Dina folded her arms across her chest, convincing me to tell about Ken. My response was to sigh in fear, I couldn't do that.
- "Yes, Giselle dear, tell him the truth that Dina wants to ride Ken and she is pissed because he doesn't have a longing for her." Monica, being a wicked person, used her persuasive serene tone and raised her brow as she waited for me to agree with her. But she threatened me through her eyes, It was a moment where I had to decide my future, the consequences of going against these twins were going to get me. By the way, who would want to ride a stupid person like Ken? I would ride a bike with no seat, but never that Ken.
- "That Clunker?" Dina annoyingly yelled, Tucker stared at her silently like there was more into the show than we were seeing "Giselle Tell him." the confidence in Dina's voice shattered once she found me standing behind her soundlessly. A smile crept over Monica's lip while Tucker, for the first time, was watching my face with so much interest.
- "See I told you." Monica clapped in sarcasm, making everyone boo at Dina. I lowered my head, feeling the pressure, If I go against them, the whole school will be bullying me, but at least I will have my friend Dina, who never thought once to back me up.
- "Dina is not lying. Ken has been harassing me for months." I finally announced loudly, crushing down Monica's expectations carelessly. I had a crush on Tucker, I was afraid of bullying, but on top of all that, I loved Dina more than anyone else. She has cared for me when everyone around me forgot about my existence.
- "You wanted to hear the truth, now let's see how you serve justice. "Dina, with a smile of pride on her lips, mocked Tucker for his inability to go against his own buddy, the same buddy who didn't respect Tucker's family.
- "They are doing it so they can manipulate you against us." Monica, pushing her hair back, tried to argue with Tucker, who made a tight fist in anger and stormed out of the classroom in search of Ken. I tried to go after him, but Dina caused me.
- "Look what you have done." Monica, through her gritted teeth, whispered into her mouth to both of us.
- "Your brother needed to be taught a lesson." Dina did the same.
- "Please, let's go now," I whispered in Dina's ear and we head out of the class. I was actually thankful to her for helping me this much.
- "Thanks, Dina," I mumbled, walking behind her into my classroom.
- "You are my friend, I will never let anyone mock you, Elle." She stopped, turning around and placing her hand on my shoulder.
- "The pause I took, I was scared, but I wasn't going to abandon you." I had to come clean to her as in friendship, you are not supposed to keep secrets.
- "I know; you don't have to explain it. I saw there, you are strong Elle but I just don't know what's keeping you from being you, the real you." She smiled weakly. She was right, I was hiding under my own shadow because I didn't want to piss off anyone. For me, being in everyone's good book was important, I can't tolerate anyone calling me names or second guess my character. Also, I didn't want to hurt anyone around Tucker, I can't afford to lose him at any cost.
- After school was over, Dina and I went to the nearby Coffee shop where all the students go after school and ordered a hot coffee, I needed it badly.
- "I didn't see Tucker after that incident," I said, feeling bad for him. He was a popular Jock, and if something happens regarding him, the news flashes faster than a disease. I didn't want him to be pictured as a coward for not helping his own family.
- "I bet he---," Dina halted in the middle of the sentence, "look who is here." She watched Tucker and Ken walking inside the coffee and marching towards us with Ken having a black eye.
- "Giselle," Ken, who looked mad, muttered. "I wanted to apologize." he was being forced to do this, I can tell.
- "It's fine," I mumbled, hoping that will end the drama.
- "I don't wanna see you near her again, you get that?" Tucker, who stopped Ken from walking by, threatened him. Ken turned his neck towards me to roughly look at us, but there was hate dripping off his eyes.
- "I won't bother her again," Ken mumbled in his mouth, there was something odd about him at that moment. I had a strong feeling, that he was going to strike back.
- "You okay?" Tucker, after Ken left, smiled and questioned. Well, he blessed me with his attention, what else can I say about that day.
- "Yes, I am." I lowered my head, my cheeks turning red as I blushed at his sexy voice.
- "It's not like you did her some favor; you just did what you should have done before." Dina, being a hot-headed girl, muttered.
- "I didn't know that before." In his self-defense, that was the only thing he said. "You ready to go back home?" since he was going to drop us, he asked.
- "Yeah!" I nodded, "Dina I will head back home now." I said goodbye to Dina and followed Tucker in the car. As we were walking by, I saw girls staring at me and Tucker with jealousy in their eyes. I heard the girls calling me lucky for staying under the same roof as Tucker.
- As we took our seats in the car, I felt like after what happened, it was going to be a long drive home.
