Chapter 42

• Thane asked me to go up to my room with Nala and rest while they went to sort the problem. I didn't argue because I was in too much shock and I didn't want to watch any gory scene.
• Apparently Roman wanted me dead because I was a half-breed, Anstice wanted revenge because his daughter was 'killed' because of me. The maid was just a pawn in their games but she was going to be punished and the witch didn't want my child born.
• They spent most of the day in the dungeon, torturing the criminals. When Thane came back to our room, he was freshly showered and I was thankful because I didn't want to see blood on him.
