• “Vera, please have this last bite; mummy needs to work,” Mia implored, her patience wearing thin as she wrestled with her three-year-old to stay still. Little Vera, however, refused to give up her chase.
• She had always been opposed to the idea of a nanny, feeling that she could best care for her child on her own. However, with the school on summer break, she found herself regretting her decision. She loved being a mother and the unconditional love it brought, but currently, her sole concern was how to get Vera to sit down and eat without turning the entire process into a production.
• Mia resorted to a cunning tactic: "If you don't eat your food, I won't bring Princess Jasmine to your birthday party," she threatened. This effective strategy, with a little aid from Kisha, eventually persuaded Vera to sit quietly and finish her meal. Vera adored Princess Jasmine, and this had managed to catch her attention and motivate her to behave.
