• Alex strode aboard the helicopter. As it circled at a low altitude, he stared down through the binoculars in his hand, but nothing came into view except a vast white expanse. There was snow everywhere; with everything covered in heavy snow, he could hardly make out anything. "Fly slower," he ordered in a cold voice. He couldn't overlook any clues to Denise's whereabouts.
• The helicopter flew around in one circle after another, but all he could see was the snow-covered landscape.
• Sitting next to him was Fiona, who was also holding a pair of binoculars while pretending to look for any possible sign of Denise. "Lex, we've searched several times already, but we don't seem to find anything." Inwardly, she was rejoicing in secret. With heavy snow blanketing everything on the mountain, not even a small animal was visible, let alone an adult like Denise. She must've been buried in the heavy snow!
