Chapter 15 A Little Familiar

• Alex was immediately angered and left the room.
• Right after he came out, he met Zoe, who saw Denise lying on bed the moment he shut the door.
• "Alex, why did you come out of Denise's room at this hour?"
• Ignoring her, Alex left without saying a word.
• That made Zoe even more curious. "Did you stay in her room last night? What did you guys do?"
• Hearing Zoe being so loud early in the morning, Denise rubbed her head in annoyance, got out of bed, and went into the bathroom to wash up.
• She knew herself well and was certain that her appearance last night must have looked horrid. More importantly, Alex saw her in such a state, so he must have known now that she had such a weakness. As she thought about that, she became uncomfortable.
• What if he uses this weakness to mock me in the future? That would be humiliating.
• It's all Selina's fault. How dare she trick me. I won't let her go so easily!
• Once she was done freshening up, she went down to the dining room. When Alex saw her, he immediately put down his cutlery and left.
• Denise was already used to his behavior, so she ignored him and sat down for breakfast.
• After last night's events, she was very tired, so she needed to replenish her energy by eating more.
• As it was inconvenient for her to act up against Alex, Zoe immediately accused Denise now that he was gone. "It's been only a few days since you came here and you're already seducing my brother. Tell me. What did you do with him last night? Why did he come out of your room just now?"
• Hearing Zoe's question, Catherine added, "Is that true? Denise, what are you trying to do? Also, you didn't come home last night, so where did you go?"
• Faced with the two women's questions, Denise sneered inside her heart. Then, with a sarcastic smile, she asked, "We're all adults. What else could a man and a woman do when they spent the night together?"
• "You!" Zoe stomped her feet. "Always thinking of seducing men. How shameless of you!"
• "Please watch your words." Denise picked up her spoon and ate a mouthful of breakfast. "Me and my fiancé are openly together. How is that seducing?"
• Zoe was at a loss for words and she slammed her cutleries onto the table before returning to her room.
• With her fists clenched, she felt jealous and furious.
• Alex is such an excellent man. Why does he need to marry this country bumpkin?
• She, Denise Lawson, isn't worthy of him!
• After Denise finished her breakfast and was about to leave for work, the driver came forward. "Miss Lawson, Mr. Harmon ordered me to send you to work."
• She suddenly stopped in her tracks.
• Alex asked the driver to send me to work?
• Has the sun risen from the west?
• Just as she wanted to say something, Catherine cleared her throat and glared at Denise before turning to the driver. "John, send me to Provis Mall."
• "But Mrs. Harmon, I was told to send Miss Lawson," John hesitantly said while feeling conflicted.
• "Thank you, but I think you should send Mrs. Harmon. I can go to work on my own." Not wanting the driver to feel conflicted, she smiled and declined the offer. Then, she hailed a cab and went straight to Harmon Corporation.
• Yet, on her way to the company, there was a stray dog in the middle of the road and it was running around among the moving cars, which was very dangerous.
• "Sir, please stop by the side." At that sight, she hurriedly stopped the driver, as she was intending to get the dog off the street.
• Her grandfather had adopted many stray dogs, so she had had a strong affinity for dogs ever since she was a child.
• Denise walked toward the dog, but suddenly, a red sports car sped straight at it.
• Oh, no!
• That car is about to hit the dog!
• Without thinking about it, Denise lunged at the puppy and hugged it tightly in her arms.
• A long screech of the brakes sounded as the sports car nearly hit Denise. When the car passed by her side, the fashionably dressed woman in the driver's seat stuck her head out the window and scolded, "Are you crazy? If you wanna die, die somewhere else!"
• But… Why does this woman seem a little familiar?
