Chapter 2 Pretend Boyfriend
- Harry shook his head. It was clear that the man didn't believe Anna's words.
- "Did I hear correctly?" Harry looked sharply at Anna, "married?"
- "Yes...married, but fake," said Anna innocently.
- Harry closed his eyes. The man felt that Anna's words didn't make sense. Could it be that the woman in front of her had a concussion from falling earlier?
- "Dear, you wait here, okay?" said Harry, suddenly looking at his daughter, "Daddy is going to see a doctor. It seems that Miss Anna has a problem in her head, so she speaks carelessly."
- Heard that, Anna's eyes suddenly widened. "Hey, wait... wait. "I'm not concussed; I'm normal and healthy; I'm conscious," said Anna quickly.
- "Then why are you talking nonsense? Do you think marriage can be a game?" snapped the man.
- "You don't know me yet. You see I already have daughter, right? You don't think about how my wife feels?"
- Anna looked down immediately – realizing her ridiculous actions. It's natural for the man in front of her to be angry.
- However, Amelia suddenly interrupted her father's words, "Daddy, who's Daddy's wife? Don't I have a mother?"
- The girl smiled mischievously – making Harry look a little nervous. "Um-yes... that's an example, dear." Harry replied Amelia.
- "So, you can't just ask to marry a stranger you don't know," added the man, again making an arrogant face at Anna.
- Amelia seemed to nod.
- "Sorry, I didn't mean a real wedding," said Anna finally, after controlling herself, "just pretending so that my grandmother wouldn't tell me to get married."
- "I don't want to get married either. That's why I ran away until I was hit by your car," explained Anna again without being asked.
- Look, Harry massaged his forehead. "What do you mean?"
- Anna sighed while patting her forehead. "Ufz, how to explain it?"
- Drrot!
- The sound of Anna's cell phone vibrating made the woman immediately open her bag.
- [ 7 Missed Calls ]
- Seeing that, Anna widened her eyes. Her mother and father seemed to contact her many times!
- Immediately, Anna called her mother's contact back. "Hello-"
- "Anna where are you? Why haven't you answered Mom and Dad's calls before?" Mom's voice was shaking with anger.
- "Yes, Mom. Sorry, I just opened the cellphone. I had an accident. I just woke up, so I just picked up Mom's call."
- "Accident? What an accident? Anna, what exactly happened?" Her mother's voice now turned worried.
- Anna sighed. "Earlier, when I ran away, I ran until I didn't look around and was hit by a car. Now, I'm in the hospital, but I'm okay, Mom. I will be home soon, just calm down, okay."
- "What?" her mother shouted, "Calm down? How calm? Actually, what is it? Why did you run away? Earlier, Jack was angry with your grandmother because he felt he was being played with. He said he couldn't accept being humiliated like this."
- "What? Why doesn't he accept it?" Anna's forehead furrowed. "Indeed, what did he lose? Has he incurred huge expenses? Tell him, I will compensate him."
- "It's not important about compensation, Anna. The problem is, after hearing Jack's words, your grandma was so angry that she had a heart attack, and now her condition is critical."
- "What? Critical?" said Anna in disbelief. "O, God...Is Grandma critical?"
- "Well, come here quickly. If something bad happens to grandma, your uncle and aunt will definitely blame you even though they love you."
- The call was disconnected.
- Anna closed her eyes. Without realizing it, tears were flowing down her cheeks.
- Seeing that, Amelia immediately asked, "Anna, why are you crying?"
- The girl even rubbed Anna's hand gently, making the woman sob. "Grandma is critical, and all because of me."
- Amelia immediately hugged her. The little girl who was easily touched even cried along with Anna, whom she had just met.
- Seeing the scene before him, Harry softened slightly. The man seemed to take a deep breath before speaking, "Actually, what happened? Try telling me slowly because my daughter is crying too."
- Hearing Harry's voice, Anna realized her actions.
- Slowly, the woman let go of Amel's embrace and tried to smile at the child. "Why are you crying Amel?" She reached out her hand and wiped away the tears of the little girl in front of her
- "I was sad to see you crying, I also remembered Grandma."
- "Well, I'm not going to cry, but Amel, don't cry anymore, okay?" Anna persuaded, which was greeted with a nod from the child.
- When she glanced at Harry, who was looking at her curiously, Anna then took a deep breath. "Two days ago, my grandmother came. She kept asking when I was getting married. Honestly, I don't want to get married yet. I still want to enjoy my own life. My mom and dad don't have a problem either, but grandma is different. She kept urging me to get married because I had not yet indicated my preferred husband candidate; in the end, my grandmother forced me to accept her choice."
- Anna sighed again; she looked at the wall of the room with a blank stare.
- "Tonight, my grandmother forced me to go on a date with a rich man I don't know, but I didn't like it at all, his attitude was rude and the look in his eyes made me nauseous."
- "Anna, if you're nauseous, just throw up," Amelia interrupted; Anna was stunned.
- "Oh yes-yes. Haha."
- "Amel, don't be kidding!" Harry said, looking at his daughter.
- "Yes, Dad."
- "I was looking for a way to ruin a date with that guy. Finally, I found an excuse to go back to the room, then jumped off the balcony and ran away. Grandma was very angry, especially as the man was also angry with Grandma because he didn't accept being played with. Finally, my grandmother's heart disease recurred, and now she is still unconscious in the hospital," continued Anna.
- "That's why you asked me to marry you?" Harry asked, a little annoyed. He was concerned, but the man really didn't like being involved in other people's problems.
- "Yes, but it's not real, just pretending," Anna squeaked softly.
- "How can marriage be fake, marriage is something sacred."
- "Sacred if it's real, this is a fake."
- "Anyway, I don't agree with this crazy idea," said Harry.
- "I beg you to help me just this once. At least, to save my grandmother's life."
- Anna begged. She looked sad and desperate because she didn't know what to do anymore.
- "Dad, why don't you and Anna just date first?"
- This time, Amelia came up with an idea that surprised both of them.
- "In a relationship?!" Anna and Harry exclaimed, almost simultaneously looking at the child.
- "Well, it's already harmonious, hihihi," joked Amelia, laughing, "it's harmonious, isn't it!"
- "Amel, don't be kidding!" Harry reminded his daughter again.
- The little girl shrugged her shoulders, looking like an adult. "Fake dating, Dad. Later, Anna told Grandma that you would be Anna's future husband."
- Hearing the cute girl's words, Anna became enthusiastic again. "Wow, that's a great suggestion! Amel, you are smart, yes."
- Amelia laughed. The sweet girl even gave Anna a high five.
- Harry secretly noticed the closeness between Amelia and Anna. It seemed like the kid really liked Anna.
- It was rare for him to see Amelia laugh like that.
- Harry seemed to massage his forehead before, and finally, the widower spoke again, "Okay, I agree, but there are conditions."
- Now it was Anna and Amelia's turn to be surprised, both of them staring at Harry.
- "What conditions?" asked Anna quickly.
- "You have to be a babysitter for my daughter."
- Anna and Amelia looked at each other. "Dad, I am already big and didn't need a babysitter. Besides, there's the household assistant at home."
- "Dad means accompanying you because next month, Dad has to go abroad for business. So, you won't get bored with household assistant."
- "Oh..." nodded the child, "if that's the case, I agrees."
- "What about you, Anna?" Amelia was now looking at Anna.
- "Deal, I agree," Anna answered quickly.
- "Yeah, from now on we're friends."
- Amelia cheered again and invited Anna to give Anna another high five.
- "Okay, I'll take you home," said Harry again.
- "But, I have to go to the hospital where grandma is being treated."
- "Are you going to the hospital dressed like this?"
- Harry looked at Anna. The woman was still wearing a nightgown that was slightly open and also a little dirty because she fell on the road earlier
- "That's right, I'm also not comfortable wearing clothes like this," said Anna, scratching the back of her neck, which didn't itch, "this is because grandma forced me."
- Finally, Anna agreed to postpone visiting her grandmother. Harry also immediately completed the administration and then took Anna home.
- It's just that, without them realizing it, a car had been following them since they left the hospital.
